Adjectives and Adverbs

Un adjectiv descrie un substantiv sau un pronume:

Ex: That boy is so loud!
Ex: Băiatul acela este atât de gălăgios!
Folosim adverbul pentru a descrie un verb, spun cum s-a îndeplinit/realizat o acțiune
Mai putem folosi adverbele în fața adjectivelor
It was really cold on Sunday
He speaks  slowly (tells how)
El vorbește încet (spune cum vorbește)

Cum se formează adverbele?

În majoritatea cazurilor, un adverb se formează prin adăugarea -ly/-ily la un adjectiv.

ends in -y,
replace
cheap cheaply the y with i an
d add -ly

quick quickly

slow easy slowly easily

angry angrily
If the adjective ends in -ic,
add -ally. Exception: public
-> publicly

happy happily

lucky luckily
