Scurt istoric: n 1919 se nfiineaz Conservatorul Unirea, n 1923 urmeaz formarea Conservatorului Naional, n 1936 a Conservatorului Municipal i n 1940 a Conservatorului de Stat; prin reorganizarea acestora, n 1964, ia natere Institutul de Arte, n baza comasrii Academiei de Muzic G.Musicescu i a Institutului de Stat al Artelor ia fiin Universitatea de Stat al Artelor din Moldova, reorganizat fiind n 2002, capt denumirea de Academia de Muzic, Teatru i Arte Plastice . The Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts with State status. Brief history : the Unirea Conservatoire was founded in 1919, the National Conservatoire was established in 1923, the Municipal Conservatoire being set up in 1936 and the
State Conservatoire was created in 1940. Following these reorganizations the State Institute of Arts was formed in 1964 and re-established in 1984. In 1998 the G.Muzicescu Conservatoire and the State Institute of Arts were merged into the State University of Arts of the Republic of Moldova reorganized and renamed Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in 2002.

Descrierea sistemului de nvmnt superior din Republica Moldova Description of the higher education system of the Republic of Moldova
Informaii generale privind nvmntul superior nvmntul superior din Republica Moldova este organizat n universiti, academii i institute. nvmntul superior se realizeaz n instituii de stat i private. nvmntul superior, cu excepia programelor n domeniile Medicin, Stomatologie i Farmacie, se realizeaz n dou cicluri: ciclul I - studii superioare de licen; ciclul II - studii superioare de masterat. Studiile superioare corespund unui anumit numr de credite de studiu transferabile ECTS: durata studiilor superioare de licen este de 3-4 ani i corespunde unui numr de 60 de credite pentru un an de studiu; durata studiilor superioare de masterat este de 1,5 -2 ani i corespunde unui numr de 90-120 de credite de studiu. Admiterea n nvmntul superior se realizeaz prin concurs, dup criterii generale stabilite de Ministerul Educaiei, respectiv, la ciclul I n baza atestatului de studii medii de cultur general, diplomei de bacalaureat, diplomei de studii medii de specialitate (colegiu), iar la ciclul II - n baza diplomei de licen (sau echivalent). Pentru studenii admii n baza atestatului de studii medii de cultur general se organizeaz un an de completare a studiilor, care nu se cuantific n credite. Anul de studii n nvmntul superior ncepe la 1 septembrie i are o durat de pn la 42 de sptmni, repartizate n dou semestre relativ egale, care include dou sesiuni de examene i stagiile de practic. Studenii instituiilor de nvmnt superior pot urma concomitent dou specialiti (specializri), prin susinerea probelor de admitere. Studiile superioare de licen se organizeaz prin nvmnt de zi i nvmnt cu frecven redus. Studiile superioare de masterat se efectueaz, de regul, prin nvmnt de zi. Durata studiilor n nvmntul cu frecven redus este mai mare cu un an fa de nvmntul de zi. Nu se ofer studii cu frecven redus la urmtoarele specialiti: medicin, farmacie, medicin veterinar, psihologie, arte, arhitectur, limbi moderne i clasice. Studiile superioare de licen se finalizeaz cu susinerea examenului de licen care include o prob de profil, o prob de specialitate i un proiect/teza de licen. nvmntul superior medical se ncheie cu susinerea examenului de absolvire i cu eliberarea diplomei de specialist. Diploma de licen se elibereaz dup absolvirea ciclului de rezideniat. Absolvenilor care au promovat cele dou probe ale examenului de licen i au susinut teza de licen li se acord titlul de liceniat n profilul/domeniul general de studiu urmat i li se elibereaz diploma de licen. Absolvenii care nu au promovat examenul de licen primesc, la solicitare, o adeverin. Studiile superioare de masterat se finalizeaz cu susinerea tezei de master. Overview of Higher Education in Republic of Moldova Higher education programs are delivered through several types of higher education institutions: universities, institutes and academies. Higher education in Republic of Moldova is provided by both state and private higher education institutions. The Higher Education degree structure in Republic of Moldova, except the programmes in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, is based on two-cycles system: I-st cycle (Bachelor) Licena degree studies, II-nd cycle Master degree studies. Each degree program in Higher Education corresponds to a certain number of transferable ECTS credits: the length of (Bachelor) Licenta degree studies is 3-4 years and corresponds to 60 credits for one year of study; the length of Master degree studies is 1,5-2 years and corresponds to 90-120 credits of studies. The admission to higher education is contest-based, organised according to the general requirements established by the Ministry of Education. The admission to the I-st cycle university studies is based on the following types of secondary school leaving certificates: Atestat de Studii Medii de Cultur General, Diplom de Bacalaureat, Diploma de studii superioare de scurt durat (colegii), Diploma de studii medii de specialitate (colegii). The admission to II-nd cycle university studies is based on Diploma de licena (or equivalent). For the students admitted on the basis of Atestat de Studii Medii de Cultur General, universities are organizing one year of studies which is not credit quantified and is m eant to complete the undergraduate studies . The academic year begins on the 1st of September and lasts up to 42 weeks. It is divided into two equal semesters and includes two periods of exams and practical trainings (internships). A student can simultaneously study two specialities (specializations) by undergoing admission exams. Licena university studies are offered full-time and part-time. Master university studies are offered usually fulltime. Part-time degree programs require one additional year of study. Specialties that are excluded for part-time studies are the following: medicine, pharmaceutics, veterinary medicine, psychology, arts, architecture, modern and classic languages. Licena university studies finalize with a Licena exam that comprises one test on the field of study topic, one test on speciality subjects and a Licena thesis/project. Medical higher education is finalizing with a final examination and awarding of the diploma of specialist , Diploma of Licentiate is awarded after the cycle of rezideniat. Diploma of Licentiate (Diplom de Licen) is awarded to those graduates who have passed the two tests of the final Licena exam and defended the final Licena thesis. The graduates are awarded the title of Licentiate in a specific field of study. The graduates that have not passed the final Licena Examine have the right to demand a certificate. Master university studies finalize with the sustenance of Master Thesis. Graduates which have successfully defended Master Thesis are awarded the Title of Master in the chosen field of study and are conferred a Diploma of Master. (www.edu.md) Post-university education Nowadays, in Republic of Moldova there are the following forms of postgraduate education: doctoral and post-doctoral studies, residentship, secundariatship specialization and qualification improvement trainings. In medical degree formation the residentship is mandatory. Doctoral study is a level of education, carried out mainly by means of comprehensive scientific research, professional activity and creative work with a length of 3 years for full-time studies and 4 years for part-time form of studies. Admission requirements, the organisational regulations are established by the Government resolution. Doctoral studies finalise by the public presentation of an original research thesis in front of an accredited specialised scientific Council. The holder of a doctoral diploma is granted the Ph.D. title in the respective field of science or arts. The holders of doctor degree diploma can apply for post-doctoral studies. The degree requires public defense of a doctoral thesis presenting an original contribution in a particular field of science (Teza de Doctor Habilitat). Post-

Doctoratul se realizeaz prin activitate de cercetare tiinific, activitate profesional i creativ cu durat de 3 ani la cursurile de zi i de 4 ani la cursurile cu frecven redus. Criteriile de admitere, organizarea i desfurarea doctoratului sunt stabilite prin hotrre de Guvern. Doctoratul se ncheie cu susinerea public a unei teze n faa unui consiliu tiinific specializat, acreditat n acest scop, i prin conferirea titlului tiinific de doctor (n domeniul tiinific respectiv). Persoanele deintoare a titlului de doctor n tiine pot urma studiile postdoctorale.
