In primul rand ne bucuram ca ai ajuns in faza de cautare a unui loc de cazare pe perioada studiului
universitar.
In primul rand exista 2 tipuri de cazari:
Din pacate studentii EU nu au cazarea garantata in caminele studentesti din Olanda, insa pe de alta parte
nici nu sunt obligati sa opteze pentru aceasta varianta. Prioritate pentru locurile din caminele studentesti
au studentii din afara Uniunii Europene, pentru care este mult mai dificil sa isi gaseasca un loc de cazare.
Totusi, daca universitatea ofera posibilitate de cazare in camin, studentii EU vor avea mari sanse sa
In
majoritatea cazurilor studentul trebuie sa fie in Olanda pentru a putea viziona camerele si a discuta cu
proprietarul.
Noi iti recomandam totusi ca in primul an de

Avans University of Applied Sciences
Avans University of Applied Sciences does not offer student accommodation. Instead, we collaborate with
housing associations and letting agencies to make sure our students find suitable housing.
• Breda - studentroomsbrabant.com
• 's-Hertogenbosch - studentroomsbreda.com
It differs per programme, in general students need to have applied and/or have an offer. Most
important is that they notify the faculty and international office that they want to be eligible for
accommodation via Avans in an early stage (April, May), by sending a short email. In June the first
round of students receives login details to book a room via the online reservation system.
Students do need to pay in advance, so only the ones serious about starting in the upcoming
intake would normally book the room whenever they are granted access to the reservation
platform.

Breda University of Applied Sciences
We do not have student accommodation at our campus. Students should find accommodation
themselves. We assist out international students in finding accommodation. During the Summer we
have a Housing Buddy who helps out anywhere he can. You can find a lot of information about it on our

Unfortunately, Breda University of Applied Sciences has no campus or student rooms of its own and,
therefore, it will be your own responsibility to find accommodation in Breda. Rental prices for a student
room in Breda vary from €350 to €550 per calendar month. Fortunately Buas is researching several new
options for the academic year 2020-2021. If we have news, we will make sure to share this with all
future students.
Finding Accommodation
It is encouraged to start your search early for the best chance of finding accommodation that fits your
needs. Nowadays most students find student housing by the use of Facebook and Click for rooms.

HAN University of Applied Sciences
Our rooms are primarily meant for NON-EU students who need a visa to stay and study in the Netherlands.
They pay the housing fee before they arrive in the Netherlands. These students have a guaranteed room.
If there are any rooms available after the NON-EU students have chosen their room, we rent them out to
EU and Dutch students. These students are registered on the waiting list. Please note that a place on the
waiting list does not guarantee getting a room so we suggest that students also start looking for a room
themselves.
In order to find a room in Arnhem or Nijmegen, there are a number of internet sites and Facebook pages

a housing newsletter with tips and links.
If you want to get some information beforehand: please check our website www.hanze.nl/housing or
www.athomeingroningen.com for more general information. This website contains also a Roomfinder
module, on which a reservation can be made.
Hanze University of Applied Sciences works with SSH, an organisation that acts as an intermediary in
finding (temporary) accommodation for international students. You can rent a room in an international
student house for the maximum period of 12 months. After this period, you have to find another room
by yourself.

Follow the correct procedure to ensure you are registered. Before you can apply for a room you
need to register with SSH. The Housing Manager of Hanze UAS will be asked to confirm your registration.
She confirms on the condition that you are a new student, and that you are either accepted or
provisionally accepted. After this confirmation, you will be able to book a room. Read the full procedure
before registering.
The SSH-website will open for registration for the upcoming academic year for international students

Radboud University
All international students who come to Nijmegen and live abroad (with the exception of degree-seeking
students living in this area in Germany) can request assistance from the Admissions Office in finding
accommodation for their first year of study.
Most students in Nijmegen live in student complexes and student houses, share an apartment or rent a
room in a house with a landlady or landlord. All rooms are private rooms (without roommates), but usually
the kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared. The large majority of the accommodation offered is mixed
accommodation, which means men and women live in the same corridor and (if applicable) share the
facilities. A few women-only corridors are offered as well. The rent for these rooms can run up to €500
per month or more. However, rental prices of most rooms are between €370 and €470 per month.
We recommend to register directly with the SSH& (Student Housing Nijmegen). The prices for unfurnished
student accommodation start at about €285 per month. The SSH& has housing units in 16 different
properties and more than 30 buildings in Nijmegen. You can find information about their application
procedure at www.sshn.nl.
13
Rotterdam Business School
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences offers international students the opportunity to stay in one of
three buildings: Hatta Building, Erasmus International House and Robert Baeldestraat. These rooms are
offered by SSH, the largest provider of student accommodations in the Netherlands. Student residents
can stay for a maximum of 1 year.
- The registration for the campus SSH locations opens on May 18th at 10:00 Dutch local time.
- The booking procedure opens on May 25th at 10:00 am Dutch local time. Only students who have
already been accepted into one of our full degree programmes will be able to book a room. The
booking procedure is based on first come, first serve principle.
- After reserving a room, you will have 48 hours to pay for the room. If the room is not paid for
within 48 hours, your reservation will be withdrawn, and another student will have the
opportunity to reserve and book the room. The required payments are: first month’s rent, the
last month’s rent and a registration fee of EUR 120. This amount can only be paid by credit card
- Find out more about the registration procedure here
- Contact: coia-housing@hr.nl
You will also find a wide range of rooms and apartments owned by private individuals and organizations,
but please he advised that RUAS doesn’t mediate with these providers. Prices start at about € 300 for
rooms and can go up to € 1.500 for apartments. The cost of gas and electricity are not always included in
the rent. Landlords usually charge a deposit.
14
Stenden University of Applied Sciences
Once you have been admitted and have registered for a study programme at NHL Stenden, you should
start looking for accommodation. We recommend you to start early with finding a suiting accommodation.
Please check our website for more information - https://www.nhlstenden.com/en/practical-
information/housing
For students from countries outside the EU we have a room guarantee agreement with our official
accommodation partner StudentStay. Depending on the room availability EU students are also welcome
to register for a room via their website. StudentStay has exclusive access to affordable accommodation
(furnished and unfurnished + shared and independent) located near the university campus and the city
centre.
Many people use Facebook to advertise accommodation and to find flatmates. Keep an eye on these
Facebook pages to find up-to-date offers, as you may be able to avoid to avoid paying additional service
charges and save on security deposits. Be sure to check the pages regularly, as new offers are posted all
the time – but many are snapped up right away.
Online Platforms
There are also plenty of online platforms which publish vacant rooms, apartments and houses by different
agencies in different price categories. Some of them are free to join while for others you may be required
to pay a one-off registration fee or a monthly fee.

Tilburg University
It has links, types of accommodation available, how to apply/search, Dutch law, Tips, FAQ, also offers. It
is very complete website.
- Fee ranges:
We do not offer campus accommodation. The price range will vary according the kind of
accommodation (Reserved or private market), the company and the kind of room the
student wants. We work with an average of 350-750 but it is possible to find for less and
also for much more. Again, most important is to check the website, the offers and read
about the reserved and the private market (left menu of the website)
- Contact:
Via the website they can contact the housing office. We strongly recommend them to
check the FAQ and the website first. When they cannot find the answer to their
question there, they can send an email to studenthousing@tilburguniversity.edu. But
please not they receive a huge amount of questions and emails. Therefore, once more,
first check the website ☺
19
University of Groningen
The University of Groningen is not a campus university and therefore does not offer campus
accommodation. To start, check on a regular basis the websites At Home in Groningen and SSHxl.
Accommodation via should SSH Groningen open beginning of May (and not during April like last year).
The application is approved by the admissions office.
Simply go to the SSH website, click on Groningen and then on "Reserve your room or residence in
Groningen". Remember to apply to SSH as early as possible. You are able to reserve your room once you
have received a conditional, provisional or unconditional offer from the University - so don’t delay!.
1. Once you have an offer from the UG, you can register for accommodation at SSH. After you
register, you will receive information from us about how to finalise your registration.
2. You can start looking for a room on the SSH site and book it (it’s a fully automated process). During
this process, you will automatically sign the rental agreement.
3. After the booking is finalised, please pay the reservation fee and the first and last month’s rent
within 24 hours using a MasterCard or Visa.
Looking on the private market is surely an option with many possibilities. We do advise students to check
first with SSH Groningen as this is the only non-profit organization the university works with.
The Student Hotel Groningen is also very popular (but for students with a bigger budget). The only
important tip is to apply early!
20
University of Twente
The UT, and Saxion, together with the municipality of Enschede and some student housing agencies
developed an app called Roomspot. On this application the students, after receiving the s-number of the
UT, can register and start looking for accommodation. In here you can see what’s available and search
according to their needs. Please keep in mind the following deadlines:
Now, if you find a place via Roomspot, since it is only for students, you will be required to submit your
letter of acceptance from the university, as proof that you are a student.
If you can’t find something within roomspot, the university has listed on this page other alternatives.
Camelot is the agency which offers studio rooms inside the university. The university has a limited
number of (Camelot) rooms, that’s why it is recommended that students search and apply directly in the
Camelot page, than via roomspot.

Utrecht University of Applied Sciences
HU does not offer housing ourselves, but we do have a number of rooms reserved with a local student
housing corporation. SSH Short Stay reserves a range of furnished accommodation especially for our
international students. However, the number of reserved accommodation is limited, and the sooner you
apply, the better your chances of finding accommodation. We therefore advise you to apply before 1 June
(for the first semester) or 1 November (for the second semester).
Students need to have an offer, and student number from HU in order to apply for accommodation.
Most student rooms will be available from 1 September/1 February respectively, sometimes a little
earlier. SSH will inform you if and when your room is available. If you arrive before your rental period start
date, you are responsible for finding and booking your own accommodation. Some suggestions are listed
below, but again be advised: get in early!

VHL University of Applied Sciences
We do not offer housing on campus and most Dutch and International students find their own
accommodation on the private market.
Many private housing agencies offer affordable student housing in the city centre of Leeuwarden and
Velp/Arnhem. They offer a range of different furnished or unfurnished rooms, generally costing
between €300 to over €450 a month.
We advise students to start their search in time: by August rooms are short and prices are up. In most
student houses they will have their own room and share the bathroom and kitchen with housemates.
Van Hall Larenstein can also arrange furnished accommodation in one of our partner’s buildings for
students in case there is a surplus of available housing. Students can make a request to be added to the
waiting list bij sending an email to studenthousing@hvhl.nl. Rooms will be subject to availability.

Windesheim University of Applied Sciences
1. Global Project and Change Management: Housing is guaranteed for all 1st year students.
Students will get additional information from us once they applied for the programme: we will
send them the right information on how to get a room. The rooms will cost maximum 450 euro
per month. There is no application deadline for campus accommodation, application deadline
for the programme is 1 June. For applying for the accommodation they don't need extra things
to do, as we also contact the housing organisation about the new students.
2. International Business: those students have to find their own housing. And because finding
housing in the Netherlands is not easy, they should start early. On our website we have a list
with helpful websites https://www.windesheim.com/practical-information/studying-at-
windesheim/housing What might help is that the students come to Zwolle and stay a few days in
a Bed&Breakfast or AirBNB, to find a proper accommodation. It is easier to find something once
you are already in the city.

Zeeland University of Applied Sciences
Both offer accommodation within walking distance from HZ and town center.
Is it possible to live in Middelburg and study in Vlissingen or vice-versa? Yes, it is just a 20-minute bike
ride on a safe cycling path, there is also a bus or train connection
o APV offers high level of services, it is not only accommodation but also making sure students have
a great student life : at the campus for first year students in Vlissingen, they have a big fitness
room, a bar, a small cinema/Netflix room, a game room and staff members of APV would be
available (almost) 24/7 to assist if any problem (for ex get to the doctor) - Rooms and studios are
furnished. A wide choice of shared-rooms (2 persons), single rooms and studios. Prices range from
290 Euros for a shared room to 410 Euros, studio would be a little bit more expensive but for
studios, you can be eligible for a rent allowance from the government
o Villex: great accommodation in town centre of Middelburg. Rooms are not furnished, so I would
advise to take the furniture package that is offered by Villex for 50 Euros a month. Villex is a
standard housing agency, so no extra services as offered with APV. Prices might be lower.
26
Possibility to rent a room in apartments/houses or studios. Prices are well indicated on their
website, but to give an estimation, from 250 to 450. No shared rooms, only single rooms and
studios.
- If a student has a studio that is registered with its own postbus number, with own kitchen and
bathroom and if the basis rent is not more than 430 Euros, the student can apply for a rent
allowance and get a refund of about 150 Euros for a rent of 430 Euros. The amount refunded
depends on the rent and the income of the student (not of the parent). Some of our students
have a student job and would get less rent allowance.
