Motenirea

L-au rugat feciorii pe btrnul lor tat s le mpart averea ct mai este n via.
Tatl le-a rspuns:
- nainte de a v mpri ceea ce am adunat o via ntreag, s-mi ndeplinii o rugminte.
- Cu plcere, tat! Poruncete! au exclamat fraii.
[ 2] Gsii-mi un cuib cu puiori, zice el.
Feciorii s-au privit mirai unii pe alii. Unul din ei a spus:
- Am vzut un cuib chiar n livada noastr. Puiorii snt mriori.
- Bine, a zis tata. Luai-i din cuib, punei-i ntr-o colivie i atrnai-o la fereastr.
Mult au plns prinii-psri, cutndu-i puiorii. Mai trziu au auzit vocile lor i au vzut
colivia la fereastr. Bucuria prinilor nu avea margini! Au nceput s le aduc de mncare:
mute, viermiori...
[ 3] Tata, privind psrile, le-a spus feciorilor:
- Uitai-v ce fac prinii. La cte am renunat i noi, prinii votri, ca s v punem pe
picioare i s v cretem mari.
- O, tat, noi tim i nu vom uita aceasta niciodat. mparte-ne averea i vei tri fericit
mpreun cu noi pn la adnci btrnei.
- Dai-mi o sptmn pentru a m gndi.
n timpul acestei sptmni puii ncercau s zboare prin colivie, iar prinii le aduceau de
mncare. La sfritul sptmnii feciorii l-au ntrebat pe tata:
- Ce hotrre ai luat?
[ 4] - Mai facei-mi un serviciu. Prindei prinii-psri i punei-i n colivie n locul puilor. Dac
puii le vor aduce mncare prinilor, eu v mpart chiar acum averea mea.
Niciun pui nu s-a apropiat mcar o dat de colivie.
- Ei bine, a zis btrnul, dai-le drumul psrilor c vor muri de foame. Iar n ce privete
motenirea, vei avea-o dup moartea mea.
