Lecția 1: Gradele de comparație - comparativul

1 Adjectivele scurte formează comparativul prin adăugarea terminației –er: smaller, bigger,
longer, shorter

2 Adjectivele lungi formează comparativul prin adăugarea cuvântului more: more peaceful,
more important

3 Adjectivele neregulate formează comparativul printr-un cuvânt nou: good – better, bad –
worse, much – more, little –less

Atenție!

 adjectivele scurte terminate în –y precedat de o consoană formează comparativul cu –ier

(și superlativul cu –iest): happy, happier, the happiest;
 adjectivele scurte terminate în consoană precedată de o vocală dublează consoana la
comparativ (și superlativ): big, bigger, the biggest

Când folosim comparativul, comparăm 2 lucruri:

Adjective scurte The clothes shop is smaller the department

store.

Adjective lungi The park is more the playground.

peaceful than
Adjective Boys are better at girls.
neregulate maths

than = decât

Exercițiul 2/ pg.34 Scrie exercițiul în caiet. Încercuiește varianta corectă dintre cele două cuvinte
scrise îngroșat.

Exercițiul 3/pg.35. Uită-te la ordinea cuvintelor în propoziție din tabelul de sus. Copiază
propozițiile în caiet folosind forma la comparativ a adjectivelor fast, big, expensive, exciting și
slow.

2 Ships are bigger than boats. =Vapoarele sunt mai mari decât bărcile.

3 Taxis are more expensive than buses. =Taxiurile sunt mai scumpe decât autobuzele.

4 Helicopters are more exciting than cars. = Elicopterele sunt mai emoționante decât mașinile.

5 Bikes are slower than motorbikes. = Bicicletele merg mai încet decât motocicletele.

Exercițiul 3/pg. 36 Folosește expresiile de mai jos și harta ca să zici cum se ajunge de la … la
…. .

Exemplu:

A: (You are at the school.) Can you tell me how to get to the bookshop, please?

B: Certainly. First, go down Marple Street and turn right into Park Avenue. … and the bookshop
is opposite the toyshop on the corner of Pine Avenue.

A: Can you tell me how to get to the hospital, please?

B: Certainly. First,go along Park Avenue and then turn right into Pine Avenue. Then take the
second left into Apple Street and the hospital is on the right.

A: Can you tell me how to get to the library, please?

B: Certainly. First,turn right into Marple Street and then turn left into Park Avenue. The library
is next to the fishmonger’s.
