Torențialitatea constituie acțiunea complexă pe
care o realizează șuvoaiele de apă produse de
ploile bogate (averse) sau de topirea rapidă a
stratului de zăpadă. Reprezintă forma cea mai
complexă creată de apele din precipitații.
Factorii generatori
Factori naturali:
-panta accentuată
-precipitații abundente
-prezența materialelor neconsolidate.
-Factori antropici:
-defrișări
-exploatarea necorespunzătoare a terenurilor
Torentul se compune din următoarele
elemente:
-bazinul de recepție-reprezintă suprafața cea
mai întinsă , aflată în secțiunea superioară, de
pe care își adună apa printr-un sistem de rigole,
ravene și ogașe ce converg către baza s-a. În
acest sector se manifestă eroziunea regresivă.
-canalul de scurgere-este sectorul mijlociu prin
care apa și materialele se scurg spre baza
versantului. Acesta este îngust, adânc de mai
mulți metri și are versanți cu pantă mare. În
acest sector se realizează o eroziune lineară.
-conul de dejecții-este sectorul final dezvoltat
pe o suprafață cvasiorizontală. Aici materialele
transportate sunt depuse sub formă de pânze
de pietriș și pietre. Are semiconică, elementele
grosiere fiind la vârful conului, iar cele fine la
exterior.
Cosecințe ale dezvoltării torenților.
Dezvoltarea torenților este însoțită de
fragmentarea reliefului, degradarea solurilor,
distrugerea de locuințe, drumuri și multe alte
consecințe negative

The torrent consists of the following elements:
-the reception basin-represents the largest
surface, located in the upper section, from
which it gathers its water through a system of
gutters, ravines and gutters that converge
towards its base. Regressive erosion is
manifested in this sector.
-the drainage channel-is the middle sector
through which water and materials flow to the
base of the slope. It is narrow, several meters
deep and has steep slopes. Linear erosion is
taking place in this sector.
-manure cone-is the final sector developed on a
quasi-horizontal surface. Here the transported
materials are deposited in the form of gravel
and stones. It is semiconical, the coarse
elements being at the top of the cone, and the
fine ones on the outside.
Consequences of torrent development.
The development of torrents is accompanied by
fragmentation of relief, soil degradation,
destruction of homes, roads and many other
negative consequences.
