4 Preaiubiţilor, să(A) nu daţi crezare oricărui duh, ci să(B) cercetaţi duhurile
dacă sunt de la Dumnezeu; căci în lume au ieşit mulţi(C) proroci mincinoşi.
2 Duhul lui Dumnezeu să-L cunoaşteţi după aceasta: Orice(D) duh care
mărturiseşte că Isus Hristos a venit în trup este de la Dumnezeu; 3 şi orice(E)
duh care nu mărturiseşte pe Isus nu este de la Dumnezeu, ci este duhul lui
Antihrist, de a cărui venire aţi auzit. El chiar(F) este în lume acum. 4 Voi(G),
copilaşilor, sunteţi din Dumnezeu şi i-aţi biruit, pentru că Cel(H) ce este în voi
este mai mare decât cel ce este în lume. 5 Ei(I) sunt din lume; de aceea
vorbesc ca din lume şi lumea(J) îi ascultă. 6 Noi însă suntem din Dumnezeu;
cine(K) cunoaşte pe Dumnezeu ne ascultă; cine nu este din Dumnezeu nu ne
ascultă. Prin aceasta cunoaştem duhul(L) adevărului şi duhul rătăcirii.
7 Preaiubiţilor(M), să ne iubim unii pe alţii; căci dragostea este de la
Dumnezeu. Şi oricine iubeşte este născut din Dumnezeu şi cunoaşte pe
Dumnezeu. 8 Cine nu iubeşte n-a(N) cunoscut pe Dumnezeu(O), pentru că
Dumnezeu este dragoste. 9 Dragostea lui Dumnezeu faţă de noi s-a arătat
prin faptul(P) că Dumnezeu a trimis în lume pe singurul Său Fiu, ca(Q) noi să
trăim prin El. 10 Şi dragostea stă nu(R) în faptul că noi am iubit pe Dumnezeu,
ci în faptul că El ne-a iubit pe noi şi a trimis pe Fiul Său ca jertfă de ispăşire(S)
pentru păcatele noastre. 11 Preaiubiţilor, dacă(T) astfel ne-a iubit Dumnezeu
pe noi, trebuie să ne iubim şi noi unii pe alţii. 12 Nimeni(U) n-a văzut vreodată
pe Dumnezeu; dacă ne iubim unii pe alţii, Dumnezeu rămâne în noi şi
dragostea(V) Lui a ajuns desăvârşită în noi. 13 Cunoaştem(W) că rămânem în El
şi că El rămâne în noi prin faptul că ne-a dat din Duhul Său. 14 Şi noi(X) am
văzut şi mărturisim că Tatăl(Y) a trimis pe Fiul ca să fie Mântuitorul lumii.
15 Cine(Z) va mărturisi că Isus este Fiul lui Dumnezeu, Dumnezeu rămâne în
el, şi el, în Dumnezeu. 16 Şi noi am cunoscut şi am crezut dragostea pe care
o are Dumnezeu faţă de noi. Dumnezeu(AA) este dragoste şi cine(AB) rămâne
în dragoste rămâne în Dumnezeu, şi Dumnezeu rămâne în el. 17 Cum este El,
aşa suntem şi noi în lumea aceasta, astfel se face că dragostea este
desăvârşită în noi, pentru ca(AC) să avem deplină încredere în ziua judecăţii.
18 În dragoste nu este frică, ci dragostea desăvârşită izgoneşte frica, pentru
că(AD) frica are cu ea pedeapsa; şi cine se teme n-a(AE) ajuns desăvârşit în
dragoste. 19 Noi Îl iubim pentru că El ne-a iubit întâi. 20 Dacă(AF) zice cineva:
„Eu iubesc pe Dumnezeu” şi urăşte pe fratele său este un mincinos, căci
cine nu iubeşte pe fratele său pe care-l vede, cum poate să iubească pe
Dumnezeu pe(AG) care nu-L vede? 21 Şi aceasta este porunca(AH) pe care o
avem de la El: cine iubeşte pe Dumnezeu iubeşte şi pe fratele său.

On Denying the Incarnation
4 Dear friends,(A) do not believe every spirit,(B) but test the spirits to see
whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out
into the world.(C) 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every
spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh(D) is from
God,(E) 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist,(F) which you have heard is coming and
even now is already in the world.(G)
4 You, dear children,(H) are from God and have overcome them,(I) because
the one who is in you(J) is greater than the one who is in the world.(K) 5 They
are from the world(L) and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world,
and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God
listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us.(M) This is
how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth(N) and the spirit of falsehood.(O)
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another,(P) for love comes from God. Everyone
who loves has been born of God(Q) and knows God.(R) 8 Whoever does not
love does not know God, because God is love.(S) 9 This is how God showed
his love among us: He sent his one and only Son(T) into the world that we
might live through him.(U) 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he
loved us(V) and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.(W) 11 Dear
friends,(X) since God so loved us,(Y) we also ought to love one another.(Z)
12 No one has ever seen God;(AA) but if we love one another, God lives in us
and his love is made complete in us.(AB)
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us
(AC)
of his Spirit.(AD) 14 And we have seen and testify(AE) that the Father has sent
his Son to be the Savior of the world.(AF) 15 If anyone acknowledges that
Jesus is the Son of God,(AG) God lives in them and they in God.(AH) 16 And so
we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

is how love is made complete(AK) among us so that we will have
confidence(AL) on the day of judgment:(AM) In this world we are like Jesus.
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,(AN) because fear
has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.(AO) 20 Whoever claims to love God yet
hates a brother or sister(AP) is a liar.(AQ) For whoever does not love their
brother and sister, whom they have seen,(AR) cannot love God, whom they
have not seen.(AS) 21 And he has given us this command:(AT) Anyone who
loves God must also love their brother and sister.(AU)

Dragostea este din Dumnezeu
7 Preaiubiţilor,
să ne iubim unii pe alţii, pentru că dragostea este din
Dumnezeu şi oricine iubeşte este născut din Dumnezeu şi-L cunoaşte pe
Dumnezeu! 8 Cel ce nu iubeşte nu L-a cunoscut pe Dumnezeu, pentru că
Dumnezeu este dragoste. 9 Prin aceasta a fost arătată dragostea lui
Dumnezeu între noi: Dumnezeu L-a trimis în lume pe singurul Său Fiu[a], ca
să trăim prin El. 10 Dragostea constă în aceasta: nu că noi L-am iubit pe
Dumnezeu, ci că El ne-a iubit pe noi şi L-a trimis pe Fiul Său ca jertfă de
ispăşire pentru păcatele noastre. 11 Preaiubiţilor, dacă astfel ne-a iubit
Dumnezeu, atunci şi noi suntem datori să ne iubim unii pe alţii. 12 Nimeni nu
L-a văzut vreodată pe Dumnezeu. Dacă ne iubim unii pe alţii, Dumnezeu
rămâne în noi şi dragostea Lui este făcută desăvârşită în noi.
13 Prin aceasta cunoaştem că rămânem în El, şi El în noi: pentru că ne-a dat
din Duhul Său. 14 Iar noi am văzut şi depunem mărturie că Tatăl L-a trimis pe
Fiul ca Mântuitor al lumii. 15 Dacă cineva mărturiseşte că Isus este Fiul lui
Dumnezeu, atunci Dumnezeu rămâne în el, iar el în Dumnezeu. 16 Şi noi am
cunoscut şi am crezut dragostea pe care o are Dumnezeu în noi.
Dumnezeu este dragoste, iar cine rămâne în dragoste rămâne în Dumnezeu,
şi Dumnezeu rămâne în el. 17 În felul acesta, dragostea lui Dumnezeu este
făcută desăvârşită în noi, pentru ca noi să avem îndrăzneală în ziua judecăţii,
fiindcă, în lumea aceasta, cum este El, aşa suntem şi noi. 18 În dragoste nu
există frică, ci dragostea desăvârşită alungă frica, pentru că frica are de-a
face cu pedeapsa. Cel ce se teme n-a fost făcut desăvârşit în dragoste.
19 Noi iubim pentru că El ne-a iubit mai întâi. 20 Dacă cineva spune: „Îl iubesc
pe Dumnezeu“, dar îşi urăşte fratele, este un mincinos; căci dacă nu-l
iubeşte pe fratele său, pe care l-a văzut, nu-L poate iubi pe Dumnezeu, pe
Care nu L-a văzut. 21 Şi porunca pe care o avem de la El este aceasta: cine-L
iubeşte pe Dumnezeu, să-şi iubească şi fratele!
