I.PRONUMELE PERSONAL
Are 3 cazuri:
II.PRONUMELE POSESIV
Se folosește atât ca pronume cât și ca adjectiv pronominal, la fel ca în Limba Română:
Pronume: sg. mine, yours, his, e. g. This is not my bag, it´s yours!
hers, its
pl. ours, yours, theirs
Adjectiv: sg. my, your, his, her, its e. g. He put his bag on the bed.
pl. our, your, their
(!) Pronumele posesiv nu se repetă în propoziții:
e. g. My cats and dogs are outside.
BUT adjectivul pron. posesiv poate fi repetat când vrem pentr a evita ambiguitatea:
e. g. My best friend and my sister are very dear to me.
III.PRONUMELE REFLEXIV
Adăugăm ”self” la singular și ”selves” la plural.
Sg: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself;
Pl: ourselves, yourselves, themselves;
Se folosește pentru a evidenția persoana care face acțiunea.
e.g. He himself washed the car.
După prepozițiile ”among” și ”between”:
e. g. They were talking among themselves.

V.PRONUMELE DEMONSTRATIV
Are rolul atât de pronume, cât și de adjectiv pronominal, dar au aceeași formă:
Sg. This that
Pl. these those
e. g. These are my daughters (pronume)
I like both of these (pronume)
That house was sold (adjectiv)

1. Some (of)
e. g. I need some money.
Some crazy people must have done that.
Some day I will be a teacher.
Some children like animals, others are afraid of them.
Some forty workers will go on strike today.
Will you give us some money?
De obicei e folosit în propoziți afirmative sau în întrebări la care așteptăm un
răspuns pozitiv. Are și cuvinte compuse: something, someone, somebody.
2. Any (of)
e. g. Do you have any kind of pet in the house?
Se folosește în următoarele situații:
• când avem o propoziție negativă sau cuvinte negative precum: no, never,
neither, nor:
e. g. He will never manage to do any of the things he suggested.
• în propoziții în care avem cuvinte cu sens negativ cum ar fi: hardly,
without, little, few, only, seldom, hard, difficult;
e. g. There is hardly any food left.
• cu sensul de ”normal”, ”ordinary” în propoziții negative:
e. g. It is not any day. It´s the first day of school.
• în propoziții afirmative când are sensul de ”no matter who/ which/ what”:
e. g. Any person can do that.
(!) Are cuvinte derivate din el: anything, anybody, anything. Sunt folosite la
fel ca ”any”;
3. No
Se folosește cu people/thing în propoziții negative:
e. g. There is no student in the classroom.
No problem, I´ll do that.
4. None of
Se traduce cu ”not one”, ”not any”:
e.g. None of the students got accepted.
None of these cars is worth buying.
(!) Are cuvinte derivate: nothing, nobody, no one.
5. Much of, many of;
• ”much of” pentru substantive nenumărabile; ”many of” pentru
substantive numărabile;
• câteodată sunt precedate de: as, so, too, rather:
e. g. Take as many fruits as you like.
• pot fi înlocuite de: plenty (of), a lot/ lots of, a good/ great deal (of), a
large quantity/ number (of);
e. g. There are lots of students in the school yard.
8. Other, Another
Are mai multe înțelesuri:
=diferit: She has other plans. / We need another day.
=un nou: I have other tasks for you. / I have another task for you.
=restul de/ceilalți: My other brother(s) is/are at home.
(!) THE OTHER poate însemna:
=celălalt:
e. g. The other cars are in the garage.
=opusul/partea cealaltă:
e. g. I saw her on the other side of the street.
=în expresii ca: on the one hand…on the other hand; in other words;
9. Several (of)
Se folosește cu substantive numărabile la plural.
Are sensul de: ”trei sau mai multe, dar nu prea multe”;
e. g. I have waited here for several hours.
10. Enough (of)
Are sensul de: as much/ many as necessary (atât cât trebuie);
E .g. There is enough tea for everybody.

(!) Pronumele interogativ și cel relativ sunt identice în formă dar primul
(pronumele interogativ) este folosit în întrebări, pe când celălalt (pronumele
relativ) leagă două propoziții într-o frază.
