Există factori externi şi interni care determină comportamentul nostru de consumatori. Printre factorii externi se numără accesibilitatea,
disponibilitatea şi preţul convenabil — ce produse sunt disponibile şi dacă ni le putem permite... În unele cazuri, de exemplu, poţi avea
mijloacele necesare pentru a-ţi putea permite produse ecologice mai scumpe, dar este posibil ca acestea să nu fie disponibile acolo unde
locuieşti.
Factorii interni se referă la motivaţii, propriul set de preferinţe şi nevoi, care, la rândul lor, sunt determinate de numeroase influenţe.
Comunicarea comercială este una dintre aceste influenţe, dar nu singura. În cea mai mare parte, consumul nostru este determinat de
ceea ce fac cei din jurul nostru. Studii neurologice recente arată că suntem mult mai puţin raţionali şi mai puţin disciplinaţi atunci când
facem cumpărături.
Potrivit unor studii, până la 90 %-95 % din alegerile pe care le facem într-un magazin sunt determinate de impuls, de emoţii şi de
obiceiuri. În principal, cumpărăm ceea ce cunoaştem. Doar o mică proporţie din achiziţiile noastre sunt realizate pe baza unei decizii
cognitive.
Cu siguranţă, constatările pot varia în funcţie de grup. Comunicarea comercială pare să aibă o mai mare influenţă asupra tinerilor.
 Conceptul de comportament al consumatorului

În literatura economică de specialitate, consumatorului i se dau diferite definiţii:

• sunt oameni care acţionează individual sau în grupuri mici cumpărând bunuri, servicii pentru scopuri
personale în vederea satisfacerii unor dorinţe;
• sunt indivizi fără o selecţie de preferinţă care particularizează consumul în sfera bunurilor
achiziţionate pentru satisfacerea nevoilor proprii sau ale familiei. Ei pot fi pentru ofertanţi: persoane
cunoscute sau anonime.
Comportamentul consumatorului în sens restrâns reflectă conduita oamenilor în cazul cumpărării şi
/ sau consumului de bunuri şi servicii, iar în sens larg cuprinde întreaga conduită a utilizatorului final
incluzând de exemplu, comportamentul alegătorului în perioada campaniei electorale şi în ziua
alegerii, a pacientului la medic, a enoriaşului la casa de cult etc.
Comportamentul consumatorului este o parte a mediului economic şi uman, în general. Acest concept
este dinamic şi nu static, schimbându-se permanent.
 Tipuri de consumatori:
Pe piaţă vom găsi 2 tipuri mari de consumatori:
• individuali - cumpără pentru nevoi personale şi ale familiei;
• organizaţionali - cumpără ceea ce li se spune să cumpere şi consumă pentru colectivitatea care l-a
însărcinat să achiziţioneze.
