CASCADELE MOKAU The trapezoidal-shaped Mokau Falls is an impressive 37m waterfall seen on the lenthy unsealed drive between Murupara and Taui through the unspoiled native forests of Te Urewera National Park. If you had to stop for only one waterfall while driving this road, make it this one. As you drive towards the top of the waterfall, you'll be passing over that bridge shown in the photo above, which provides a nice scale detailing just how big this waterfall really is. I don't think you can access the base of the falls, but the roadside pullout offering a decent view across the gorge is sufficient enough.

the city provided an extra impetus to the city's importance and growth, as did the establishment of the country's first university. Though the city's fortunes waned during much of the twentieth century, it is now again experiencing growth and is seen as a centre for tertiary education, eco-tourism, and culture.
