În timp ce facem sport, mușchii consumă oxigenul conținut de hemoglobină pentru a transforma glucoza în
energie. Mai exact, în timpul acestui proces, dioxidul de carbon și hidrogenul sunt eliberați, acestea
determinând scăderea nivelului pH-ului sângelui.

2. Ca urmare a efortului intens, ritmul cardiac poate să crească până la 150 de bătăi pe minut sau chiar mai
mult, comparativ cu 70-80 de bătăi pe minut cât este normal pentru o persoană care se află în repaus. În plus,
inima pompează în timpul exercițiilor fizice până la 20 de litri de sânge pe minut, față de 5 litri pe minut,
pompați de inima unei persoane aflate în stare de repaus.

3. Volumul sistolic Crește în efort datorită contracțiilor mai puternice ale mușchiului cardiac ventricular, care
realizează în acest fel o mai buna golire ventriculară.
