În timp ce facem sport, mușchii consumă oxigenul conținut de hemoglobină pentru a transforma glucoza în
energie. Mai exact, în timpul acestui proces, dioxidul de carbon și hidrogenul sunt eliberați, acestea
determinând scăderea nivelului pH-ului sângelui.

2. Ca urmare a efortului intens, ritmul cardiac poate să crească până la 150 de bătăi pe minut sau chiar mai
mult, comparativ cu 70-80 de bătăi pe minut cât este normal pentru o persoană care se află în repaus. În plus,
inima pompează în timpul exercițiilor fizice până la 20 de litri de sânge pe minut, față de 5 litri pe minut,
pompați de inima unei persoane aflate în stare de repaus.
