avand in vedere ca are capacitatea de a transforma crestinii in monstri ca el
Harker are o incapacitatea de a accepta necunoscutul, irationalul, paranormalul, o
TEME:
CITATE:
“so strange and uncanny that a dreadful fear came upon [him].”
“I think I must have fallen asleep and kept dreaming. . . .” – Harker se indoieste de
veridicitatea experientei sale
“Welcome to my house! Enter freely and of your own will!” He made no motion of
stepping to meet me, but stood like a statue, as though his gesture of welcome had
fixed him into stone. The instant, however, that I had stepped over the threshold, he
moved impulsively forward, and holding out his hand grasped mine with a strength which
made me wince, an effect which was not lessened by the fact that it seemed as cold as
ice—more like the hand of a dead than a living man.
If it be so, then was he no common man; for in that time, and for centuries after, he
was spoken of as the cleverest and the most cunning, as well as the bravest of the sons
of the “land beyond the forest.” That mighty brain and that iron resolution went with
him to his grave, and are even now arrayed against us. – Van helsiing, despre conte
inainte sa fie vampir
My revenge is just begun! I spread it over centuries, and time is on my side. Your girls
that you all love are mine already; and through them you and others shall yet be mine—
my creatures, to do my bidding and to be my jackals when I want to feed. – contele
dracula catre cei care vor sa l omoare
But we are face to face with duty; and in such case must we shrink? For me, I say, no;
but then I am old, and life, with his sunshine, his fair places, his song of birds, his
music, and his love, lie far behind. You others are young. Some have seen sorrow; but
there are fair days yet in store. What say you? – van helsing convingandu-i pe ceilalti sa
i se alature in misiunea de a-l distruge pe Dracula
A year ago which of us would have received such a possibility, in the midst of our
scientific, matter-of-fact nineteenth century? – MODERNITATE; van helsing catre
grup
I am alone in the castle with those awful women. Faugh! Mina is a woman, and there is
nought in common. They are devils of the Pit! – Harker cand compara femeile vampir
intalnite in castel cu Mina, femeia ideala victoriana, logodnica sa
Lucy’s eyes in form and colour; but Lucy’s eyes unclean and full of hell-fire, instead of
the pure, gentle orbs we knew. At that moment the remnant of my love passed into
hate and loathing[.] – Seward despre Lucy vampir
I suppose that we women are such cowards that we think a man will save us from fears,
and we marry him. I know now what I would do if I were man and wanted to make a girl
love me – Lucy despre casatorie
The nosferatu do not die like the bee when he sting once. He is only stronger; and
being stronger, have yet more power to work evil.
“that poor soul who has wrought all this misery is the saddest case of all.” – Mina
despre Dracula
FINAL:
PROTAGONIST: Harker, Van Helsing, DR Seward, Mina Murray, Arthur Holwood, Morris –
