Asociația Profesorilor de Limba Engleză din Oltenia este o
organizație regională, non-guvernamentală, apolitică şi non-profit,
înființată în Oltenia în vederea strângerii legăturii dintre toți profesorii de
limba engleză pentru desfășurarea și promovarea activităților de natură
să asigure dezvoltarea individuală și socială. Asociația își propune să
deruleze activități cu caracter științific, cultural și umanitar. Asociația a
fost înființată în octombrie 2018 și are sediul central în Craiova.
Asociația se vrea partenerul tuturor profesorilor de limba
engleză, în vederea realizării unor parteneriate educaționale, publicații
online și a unor concursuri școlare. De asemenea, ne propunem organizarea unor
conferințe, mese rotunde și suntem deschiși tuturor propunerilor venite din partea
dumneavoastră.
În cadrul APLEO, Consiliul director a luat decizia înființării
Departamentului pentru limba germană. Toți colegii care
predau limba germană se pot implica în activitățile desfășurate în cadrul
APLEO în cadrul acestui departament.
APLEO propune tuturor profesorilor de limba engleză și de limba germană o

Bibliotecă virtuală unde profesorii și elevii pot găsi materiale
GRATUITE menite să sprijine activitatea de predare-învățare-evaluare. De
asemenea, ne propunem realizarea unor materiale pentru profesorii de limba
engleză și limba germană necesare pentru proiectarea didactică și realizarea
unor lecții cât mai atractive.
APLEO vine în sprijinul elevilor și profesorilor care fac performanță. De

aceea, încă din primul an de la înființare, APLEO a inițiat Ceremonia de
premiere a elevilor care s-au calificat la Olimpiada Națională de Limba
Engleză. Pentru că suntem alături de profesori și elevi și pentru a susține și
încuraja performanța, APLEO va oferi aceste premii anual.
APLEO vine în sprijinul colegilor, profesori de limba engleză și limba

germană, care doresc să se perfecționeze și organizează Conferințe atât cu
participare locală, națională, dar și internațională.
Conferința Națională Limbile Moderne de la Tradiție la Inovație a
trezit interesul profesorilor de limba engleză, nu numai din regiunea Olteniei, dar și celor
din întreaga țară. Invitata specială, Sarah Ellis, a reușit să depășească așteptările, chiar și a
celor mai sceptici dintre cei peste 100 de participanți.
Conferința interjudețeană Tehnici de Predare în Clasa Postmodernă a adus
împreună participanți din județele Olteniei. Ediția I a lărgit orizontul participanților și a
oferit posibilitatea speaker-ilor de a împărtăși din experiența lor. Ambele proiecte s-au
bucurat de un real succes și sperăm să devină o tradiție.
In vederea încurajării elevilor talentați și pasionați de limba engleză, încă
de la clasele primare, APLEO a inițiat două concursuri pentru toate
vârstele. In parteneriat cu am putut oferi premii
substanțiale câștigătorilor.

Concursul de Ortografie în limba engleză Spelling Rules care se adresează
elevilor claselor II – V, s-a desfășurat la Colegiul Național „Elena Cuza” și, încă de la prima
ediție, s-a dovedit un proiect de succes. Ocupanții locurilor I de la fiecare nivel au primit ca
premiu un examen Cambridge.
Concursul English for teens care se adresează atât elevilor de gimnaziu, cât și
elevilor de liceu, respectiv clasele III – XII, a înregistrat de la prima ediție un număr ridicat
de participanți.
Ambele proiecte vor continua și anul acesta cu sprijinul partenerilor noștri de la
Colegiul Național „Elena Cuza” din Craiova.
APLEO propune tuturor profesorilor de limba engleză și limba germană,

care doresc să-și îmbogățească activitatea profesională prin publicarea unor
articole de specialitate, revista internațională Pygmalion. Această
publicație va apărea în format electronic, respectiv online, iar membrii
APLEO vor publica articole și studii fără costuri. Articolele trebuie să se
încadreze într-o tematică bine stabilită, să aibă o structură specifică, să
respecte anumite cerințe și anumite standarde. Toate aceste detalii și alte
informații vor fi disponibile pe site-urile noastre.
La sfârșitul anului 2020 APLEO va relansa, după o pauză de peste

10 ani, publicația The Sentinel. Aceasta se adresează tuturor elevilor care
doresc să publice în limba engleză. Publicația va apărea anual în format
electronic, respectiv online. Tematica articolelor rămâne la libera alegere a
elevului și a profesorului coordonator. Contribuțiile pot fi trimise pe adresa
de mail sentinel@apleo.ro
APLEO a lansat în luna decembrie 2019, Concertul de Crăciun în

colaborare cu Teatrul Național “Marin Sorescu” din Craiova, și cu Partenerii
Colegiul Național “Frații Buzești”, Colegiul Național “Carol I”, Colegiul
Național “Elena Cuza”, Colegiul Național Militar “Tudor Vladimirescu” și Liceul
de Arte “Marin Sorescu”. Elevii au transpus în scenă lumea de basm a Crăciunului, prin
colindele pe care le-au interpretat. Proiectul va continua și în anii următori.
APLEO dorește să vină în sprijinul profesorilor care doresc să se perfecționeze
cu o ofertă variantă de cursuri de formare acreditate!

Despre autori
Mirela Livia VOICU a absolvit Facultatea de Litere din Craiova,
specializarea franceză–engleză (2004), masterul „Comunicare
interculturală” (2006) și studii postuniversitare în domeniul
„Managementul unităților de învățământ” (2018). Este profesor titular la
Școala Gimnazială „Gheorghe Bibescu” din Craiova, membru APLEO încă
de la înființare, metodist ISJ Dolj și expert în management educațional.
Dornică de perfecționare, a participat la numeroase conferințe,
workshopuri și stagii de formare. Cu o experiență de peste 15 ani de
predare a limbii engleze, din 2015 și până în prezent, a coordonat diverse
proiecte europene ERASMUS+: ”The Sons Of The Sun”, ”Educație interculturală prin
instrumente digitale”, „Educație pentru Diversitate, Incluziune și Toleranță”, „Foreign
Languages: YES!”.
Diana Victoria COTESCU Președinta Asociației profesorilor de limba engleză din

Oltenia – APLEO, eseist, traducător, membru al Uniunii Ziariștilor
Profesioniști din România, profesor titular de limba engleză la Colegiul
Naţional „Fraţii Buzeşti”. Este o persoană activă, fiind consilier educativ,
membru al Consiliului de administrație, membru în Consiliu consultativ
pentru disciplina limba engleză, profesor metodist de specialitate,
responsabil de cerc pedagogic şi mentor de practică pedagogică etc. Face
parte din colectivul de cercetători-colaboratori ai Institutului de Studii şi
Cercetări Socio-Umane „C.S. Nicolăescu-Plopşor” Craiova al Academiei
Române. A primit numeroase diplome şi medalii pentru activitatea
interdisciplinară, i s-a conferit titlul de „Cetăţean al Europei” de către Liga
Culturală pentru Unitatea Românilor de Pretutindeni. Activitatea
publicistică este foarte bogată, fiind autoarea unui număr de 11 cărți, 6
studii în volume, 4 ediții îngrijite, 4 prefațe și numeroase studii și articole în reviste din
țară și din străinătate.
Georgiana Silvia LEOTESCU membru APLEO și responsabil

PR în cadrul APLEO, cadru universitar asociat la Universitatea din
Craiova, Facultatea de Litere, Departamentul de Comunicare, Jurnalism
și Științe ale Educației din 2014. A absolvit cursurile Universității din
București, Facultatea de Litere, secția Comunicare și Relații Publice și
cursurile Universității din Craiova, Facultatea de Litere, secția limba
engleză – limba germană și cursurile de master „Studii Anglo-americane”
în cadrul Facultății de Litere, Universitatea din Craiova. În prezent este
doctorand în cadrul Școlii doctorale „Alexandru Piru” din cadrul
Universității din Craiova. Este autoare a numeroase publicații de
specialitate.
Mădălina BĂLTĂREȚU membru APLEO, profesor de limba

engleză la Colegiul Naţional ”Fraţii Buzeşti” gradul I, cu experiență de
14 ani în predarea limbii engleze. Absolventă a Universității din Craiova,
Facultatea de Litere, promoția 2006, secția Engleză-Română, a
masterului Sociologia Comunicării și Jurnalism, promoția 2009, în
prezent masterandă a Universității din Craiova, Facultatea de Litere - 6
Studii de limba engleză și literaturi Anglo-Americane. A fost şi este
pasionată de metodica predării limbii engleze la nivel preuniversitar obţinând o bursă de
studiu Comenius la cursul Teacher Refresher Course: Language and Methodology,
Bournemouth, Anglia (2010). De-a lungul carierei didactice a făcut parte din comisiile de
organizare a olimpiadelor şcolare, a fost profesor metodist isj Olt, a participat la
numeroase cursuri şi seminarii de formare profesională, a publicat cărţi şi articole de
specialitate.
Iulia CĂLIN membru fondator APLEO, profesor de limba engleză la

Școala Gimnaziala „Mihai Viteazul”, Craiova, membru al Asociației
Profesorilor de Limba Engleza din Oltenia, cu o vechime în învățământ
de 14 ani. Am absolvit in 2004, Facultatea de Litere, Craiova,
specializarea limba si literatura engleză –limba și literatura română și
apoi, în 2006, masterul „Civilizație și literatura anglo-americană” la
Universitatea din Craiova, Facultatea de Litere.
Mihaela DASCĂLU este absolventă a Universității din Craiova,

Facultatea de Litere, promoția 2008 și a programului de Masterat Studii
Anglo-americane. În prezent este profesor titular de limba engleză,
gradul didactic I, interesată de dezvoltarea profesională permanentă prin
participarea la cursuri de formare, seminarii, conferințe. Este membru
APLEO încă de la înființare și participă la toate activitățile desfășurate de
asociație, având convingerea că prin perfecționarea continuă și
colaborare vom putea oferi elevilor experiențe de învățare deosebite.
Adelina DUMITRU a absolvit Facultatea de Litere din Craiova,

specializarea franceză – engleză (2001), studii aprofundate în domeniul
„Contrastivitatea și Didactica Limbii Franceze” (2002), studii de masterat
în specializările „Comunicare și Relații Publice” (2005) și „Unitate și
Diversitate în Studierea Limbii și Literaturii Engleze” (2007). În anul
2009 a beneficiat de o bursă de studiu la Dunfermline, în Marea Britanie,
în cadrul Programului Comenius. Este autoare a mai multor lucrări
științifice, cea mai recentă lucrare a sa este Teaching English through Drama (2015),
proiect editorial finanţat de Administraţia Fondului Cultural Naţional (AFCN). Este
profesor titular la Colegiul Național „Carol I”, membru APLEO și membru al Corpului
Național al Experților în Management Educațional. În cariera didactică de 18 ani a
coordonat diverse parteneriate și proiecte educaționale și a participat la numeroase
simpozioane, conferințe, stagii de formare naționale și internaționale.
Ileana Dora MIREA este profesor titular de limba engleză la

Liceul de Arte “Marin Sorescu”, Craiova şi membră A.P.L.E.O. A
absolvit Facultatea de Litere și Istorie, specializarea Română –Engleză,
în 1999. Este interesată de dezvoltarea personală şi profesională,
participând la stagii de pregătire internațională –Plymouth UK
“English Language and Methodology for Primary School Teachers of
English”, urmat de “Using Technology in Teaching English“- Ipswich 7
U.K., sau “Cooperative and Inquiry- Based Learning. Stimulating

Students Creativity and Motivation.” London U.K.
Mihaela MOANȚĂ membru APLEO, profesor de limba engleză,

titular la Şcoala Gimnazială ”Gheorghe Ţiţeica”din Craiova, responsabil de
comisie metodică Limbi moderne. Cu peste 25 ani de experienţă la catedră,
în aceeaşi unitate de învăţământ, A atins performanţe în pregătirea lotului
de elevi la olimpiade şi concursuri şcolare de specialitate, cu rezultate
deosebite. A făcut parte din comisiile de organizare, desfăşurare şi
evaluare a numeroase olimpiade şi concursuri şcolare, îndeplinind diferite
funcţii (preşedinte, evaluator, membru). Metodist ISJ Dolj şi membru în
Consiliul Consultativ al ISJ Dolj și al Corpului naţional de experţi în
management educațional. Sunt profesor metodist de specialitate, mentor de practica
pedagogică şi membru al Corpului naţional de experţi în management educaţional.
Masterat în Limba engleză, studii teoretice şi aplicate ( Universitatea din Craiova )
Alexandra OLARIU este absolventă a Universității din Craiova,

Facultatea de Litere, promotia 2008 și a programelor de Master de Limbă
și literatură engleză 2010 și Traducere 2019. În timpul facultății a
beneficiat de o bursă Erasmus la facultatea Ca'Foscari din Veneția iar
după absolvire a urmat un program de perfecționare la Școala lingvistică
Reggio Lingua. În prezent este profesor titular de limba engleză, gradul
didactic II, interesată de tehnici educaționale moderne și practici
inovatoare de predare. Este membru APLEO de la înființare și participă
la toate activitățile asociației bazate pe nevoile actuale ale dascălilor.
Daniela POPOVICI profesor de limba engleză la Școala Gimnazială

„Avram Iancu” Unirea, județul Alba, doctor în Filologie, Pragmatică limba
engleză, traducător, evaluator de manuale, expert creare și implementare
de curriculum axat pe competențe cheie, inteligența emoțională și
învățarea experiențială în mai multe proiecte europene, membru APLEO,
Educational Drama Association in Romania, Asociația „Mugurii Unirii”,
Asociația „Lume bună”, voluntar Ora de NET, coordonator revistă școlară.
Denisa RĂDUȚ este profesor de limba engleză, membru și secretar al

Asociației Profesorilor de Limba Engleza din Oltenia. Absolventă a
Facultății de Litere din cadrul Universității din Craiova, a urmat si un
master in limba engleza in cadrul aceleiași instituții universitare. Are o
vechime de peste 10 ani in predarea limbii engleze, a participat la proiecte
europene si a publicat lucrări in limba engleză și articole în reviste de
specialitate.

Introducere
În contextul educațional actual, APLEO și-a propus să creeze un auxiliar

didactic pentru a facilita predarea on-line a limbii engleze. Lucrarea ”APLEO
Companion to Teaching English Online: Volume I Primary” este
realizată de un colectiv de autori, membri APLEO cu o vasta experiență la
catedră.
Culegerea a fost concepută ca o colecție de fișe de lucru care pot fi
utilizate pe diferite platforme educaționale. Structura este pe trei niveluri de
dificultate, oferind profesorului posibilitatea de a adapta materialele în
funcție de nivelul și particularitățile clasei. Fiecare nivel este împărțit în 5
secțiuni – VOCABULARY, GRAMMAR, READING, WRITING și LISTENING,
vizând competențe esențiale de înțelegere a limbii engleze.
Autorii au propus o varietate de materiale didactice interesante și
atractive, constituind un real suport atât pentru elevi, cât și pentru profesori.
Elevii vor avea oportunitatea de a-și testa cunoștințele și de a-și îmbunătăți
abilitățile de comunicare în limba engleză. Cadrele didactice vor avea acces la
o diversitate de resurse create special pentru predarea online, abordându-se o
multitudine de teme și conținuturi științifice specifice ciclului primar.
Pe lângă fișele de lucru în format PDF, lucrarea de față oferă agenților
educaționali implicați activitățile de Writing în format editabil, precum și
link-urile/înregistrările necesare rezolvării sarcinilor de lucru pentru partea
de Listening. Cadrele didactice vor avea la dispoziție un Teacher’s book, cu
rezolvarea exercițiilor, putându-l accesa pe baza unei declarații pe propria
răspundere.
Sperăm că acest auxiliar pe suport digital va fi util și eficient în
activitatea de predare-învățare-evaluare a limbii engleze și vă dorim mult
succes!

THE PLURAL OF NOUNS

Let’s count!
In order to count things we have to find out the plural of nouns.
We form the plural of nouns following some strict rules:
1. -we add the ending”-s” at the end of a singular noun.
SINGULAR PLURAL
a/0ne dog two dogs
*- we read the ending “-s”-[s] when the singular nouns end in
voiceless consonants: [k], [p], [t] ,[th].
Eg: book- books [s] cap- caps [s]
cat- cats [s] month-months[s]
**- we read the ending “-s” –[z] when the singular nouns end in
voiced consonants: [b], [d], [g], [l], [m],[n], [ng].
Eg: comb –combs [z] bed-beds[z]

2.- we add the ending “-es” when the singular noun ends in: ’’ -o
-ch, -sh,- s,- ss, -x,- z” and we read it [-iz]

COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
! Countable nouns are those that refer to something that can be
counted. They have both a singular and a plural form. In the
singular, they can be preceded by a or an. Most nouns come into
this category.
E.g.: a banana- two bananas
an umbrella - two umbrellas
! Uncountable nouns are those that refer to things that cannot
be counted and are used in the singular. They usually do not
have a plural form and take a singular verb.
Some uncountable nouns can be used in the plural as well,
depending on the context.
E.g. .: 1.Would you like some coffee? (Uncountable because it
refers to the drink in general).
He ordered a coffee. (Countable because it refers to a cup
of coffee).
2. She has got long dark hair. (Uncountable because it
refers to hair as a whole).

Uncountable nouns can be made countable using certain
expressions

Some nouns are countable in other languages but uncountable in

The Genitive Case is used to show possession. (Whose?)
