Gradele de comparație ale adjectivelor

Este o regulă pentru adjectivele scurte și o alta pentru


adjectivele lungi. Ca de obicei în engleză, sunt și excepții.

1. Adjective scurte (formate dintr-o silabă și o parte dintre


cele cu două silabe):
- pentru comparativ: se adaugă “er” la sfârșitul adjectivului
- pentru superlativ: se adaugă “the” înaintea adjectivului
și “est” la sfârșit.
Exemple:

Adjectivele scurte se termină întotdeauna în “er” iar


superlativul în “est”.
2. Adjective lungi (două sau mai multe silabe):
- pentru comparativ: se adaugă “more” înaintea adjectivului
- pentru superlativ: se adaugă “the most” înaintea adjectivului
