Adjectivul in engleza

In engleza, adjectivele sunt impartite in 2 categorii: lungi ( long) si scurte ( short)

Cele scurte sunt formate dintr-o silaba sau din doua ( happy, tall, sad, nice, pretty, common, short,
eetc)

Cele lungi sunt formate din trei sau mai multe silabe ( beautiful, intelligent, interesting, modern -tot
aici intra etc)

Comparativul adj scurte:

Adj+er+ than (decat)

I am happier than you. (mai fericit)

I am taller than you ( mai inalt)

Superlativul adj scurte

THE + adj+est

I am the tallest ( sunt cel mai inalt)

I am the happiest ( sunt cel mai fericit)

Comparativul de egalitate adj scurte:

As+ adj +as

I am as tall as you ( la fel de…)

Comparativul adj lungi

More + adj + than

She is more beautiful than her cousin ( este mai frumoasa)

Superlativul adj lungi

The most + adj

She is the most beautiful ( cea mai frumoasa)

Comparativul de egalitate:

As + adj+as

She is as beautiful as her mother ( la fel de frumoasa precum mama ei)

Exista adjective neregulate, acestea au forme specifice pentru comparativ si superlativ

Good-better-the best ( bun, mai bun, cel mai bun)

Bad-worse-the worst ( rau, mai rau, cel mai rau)
