Shri Ramakrishna ca si toti jivanmuktas (Ramana, Nisargadatta, Ranjit
Ca atare, e de preferat sa-i credem/avem incredere pe/in ei-jivanmuktas
confirmati (desi mai multi, Unul).
You will experience a deep sense of peace and harmony, great elevation
and inspiration, in his presence...
and He has the ability to clear any kind of doubt of aspirants. Doubts
vanish when one remains in His company.

intregime revelat fiintelor limitate. Absolutul, Neconditionatul, nu poate fi
exprimat in functie de relativ si conditionat. Infinitul nu poate fi descris in
limbajul finitului.
Prima papusa
reprezinta omul care isi contopeste sinele in Sinele Universal si aflat in

– Nisargadatta
Maharaj

„Zis-a avva Antonie : parintii cei de demult, cand mergeau in pustie, intai
cuvantul acesta ? Raspuns-a : Nu stiu.
cel ce voieste, intra in grajd si dezleaga asinul.
Zis-a batranul : daca

sibilinic: „Da, scripturile indiene spun asa.”
An Anglicized form of the Sanskrit, avatara, "descent", from the root tr,
"pass" (cf. Latin in-trare), and the preposition ava, "down".
The word is used, in a technical sense, in the Hindu re!igion to denote the
descent upon earth of a portion of the essence of a god, which then
assumes some coarser material form, be it animal, monster, or man. Such
descents are ascribed in the mythology of Hinduism to various gods, but
those ascribed to Vishnu are by far the most important. They are believed
to have taken place at different ages of the world, and to have consisted of
different proportions of the essence of the god Vishnu. Their number is
variously stated, ranging from ten to twenty-eight, finally becoming
indefinitely numerous. Any remarkable man is liable to be regarded as a
more or less perfect avatar of Vishnu, and the consequence one of the
worst features of Hinduism - has been the offering of divine homage to
men, especially the founders of religious sects and their successors.
8
by extension by non-Hindus to refer to the incarnations of God in other
religions, notably Christianity, for example Jesus.
This doctrine has had a great impact on Hindu religious life, for to many it
means that God has manifested Himself in a form that could be appreciated
even by the least sophisticated. Rama and Krishna have remained
prominent as beloved and adored manifestations of the Divine for
thousands of years among Hindus. The Upanishadic concept of the
underlying unity of Brahman is revered by many to be the pinnacle of Hindu
thought, and the concept of the avatars has purveyed this concept to the
ordinary Hindu as an expression of the manifestation of the Hindu's highest
single divinity as an aid to humanity in difficult times. The Hindu cycle of
creation and destruction contains the essence of the idea of "avatars" and
indeed relies on a final avatar of Vishnu, that of Kalki, as the final
destructive force at the end of the world.
Aside from Rama and Krishna there are many other human or animal forms
which appeared on earth or elsewhere in the universe. Scriptures do not
describe any appearance as an avatar by Brahma or Shiva (they are
themselves listed as guna avatars) of nirguna Brahman, but emanations of
Vishnu have appeared a number of times. Some Hindus, based on the
Ramayana, aver that Shiva incarnated once as the monkey-god Hanuman.
Hanuman is more well-known as the son of Vayu, the deva of wind or his
emanation. (Hanuman lived in a jungle in Treta Yuga and is called vanara,
which means people having characteristics of monkey, and was one of the
greatest devotees of Vishnu).

45. As a large and powerful steamer moves swiftly over the waters, towing
rafts and barges in its wake, so when a Saviour descends, He easily carries
thousands across the ocean of Mâyâ (illusion).
46. When the flood comes, it overflows rivers and streams, and makes one
watery surface of all adjacent lands. But the rain-water flows away through
fixed channels. When the Saviour becomes incarnate, all are saved through
His grace. The Siddhas (perfect ones) only save themselves with much
pain and penance.
47. When a mighty raft of wood floats down a stream, it can carry a hundred
men, and still it does not sink. A reed floating down may sink with the
weight of even a crow. So when a Saviour becomes incarnate, innumerable
are the men who find salvation by taking refuge under Him. The Siddha
only saves himself with much toil and trouble.
48. The locomotive engine reaches the destination itself, and also draws
and takes with it a long train of loaded wagons. So likewise act the
Saviours. They carry multitudes of men, heavily laden with the cares and
sorrows of the world, to the feet of the Almighty.
10
48. When Bhagavân Srî Râmakandra came to this world, seven sages only
could recognise Him to be the God incarnate. So when God descends into
this world, few only can recognise His Divine nature.
51. The Avatâra or Saviour is the messenger of God. He is like the Viceroy
of a mighty monarch. As when
there is some disturbance in a far-off province the king sends his viceroy to
quell it; so whenever there is any waning of religion in any part of the world,
God sends His Avatâra there.
52. It is one and the same Avatâra that, having plunged into the ocean of
life, rises up in one place and is known as Krishna, and diving again rises in
another place and is known as Christ.
53. In some seasons water can be obtained from the great depths of the
wells only and with great difficulty, but when the country is flooded in the
rainy season, water is obtained with ease everywhere. So ordinarily, God is
reached with great pains through prayers and penances, but when the flood
of Incarnation descends, God is seen anywhere and everywhere.
55. Think not that Râma, Sitâ, Srî Krishna, Râdhâ, Arguna, &c., were not
historical personages, but mere allegories, or that the Scriptures have an
inner and esoteric meaning only. Nay, they were human beings of flesh and
blood just as you are, but because they were Divinities, their lives can be
interpreted both historically and spiritually.
56. None knoweth the immensity of the sacrifice which the Godhead
maketh when it becomes incarnate or becomes flesh.
57. The Saviours are to Brahman as the waves are to the ocean.
216. There are two sorts of men. The Guru said to one of his disciples,
'What I impart to thee, my dear, is invaluable; keep it to thyself,' and the
11
disciple kept it all to himself. But when the Guru imparted that knowledge to
another of his disciples, the latter, knowing its inestimable worth, and not
liking to enjoy it all alone, stood upon a high place and began to declare the
good tidings to all the people. The Avatâras are of the latter class, while the
Siddhas are of the former.

VISHNU.
Vishnu occupies the second place in the triad of the Hindus, and is the
personification of the preserving principle. To protect the world in various
epochs of danger, Vishnu descended to the earth in different incarnations,
or bodily forms, which descents are called Avatars. They are very
numerous, but ten are more particularly specified. The first Avatar was as
Matsya, the Fish, under which form Vishnu preserved Manu, the ancestor of
the human race, during a universal deluge. The second Avatar was in the
form of a Tortoise, which form he assumed to support the earth when the
gods were churning the sea for the beverage of immortality, Amrita.
We may omit the other Avatars, which were of the same general character,
that is, interpositions to protect the right or to punish wrong-doers, and
come to the ninth, which is the most celebrated of the Avatars of Vishnu, in
which he appeared in the human form of Krishna, an invincible warrior, who
by his exploits relieved the earth from the tyrants who oppressed it.
12
Asuras, opponents of the gods, to abandon the sacred ordinances of the
Vedas, by which means they lost their strength and supremacy.
Kalki is the name of the tenth Avatar, in which Vishnu will appear at the end
of the present age of the world to destroy all vice and wickedness, and to
restore mankind to virtue and purity.
"When Buddha Avatar descended from the region of souls, and entered the
body of Mahamaya, the wife of Soontala Danna, Raja of Kailas, her womb
suddenly assumed the appearance of clear transparent crystal in which
Buddha appeared, beautiful as a flower, kneeling, and reclining on his
hands. When born he had on his head two feet, and on his hands the marks
of wheels. Brahma attending at the birth received the infant in a golden
vessel, and delivered him unto Indra."
The famous Inscription of Buddha-Gaya, Bengal, dated the year 1005 of the
era of Vikramaditya (B.C. 57) contains this remarkable passage:
"Amaradiva [son of Sandracottus] having heard this voice caused an image
of the Supreme Spirit, Buddha, to be made; and he worshipped it,
according to the law, with perfumes, incense, and the like, and he thus
admired [magnified] the Name of that Supreme Being, an Incarnation of a
portion of Vishnu. Reverence be unto thee in the form of Buddha; reverence
be unto thee, Lord of the Earth! Reverence be unto thee an Incarnation of
the Deity, and the Eternal One; Reverence be unto thee O God, in the form
of the God of Mercy, the Dispeller of pain and trouble, the Lord of all things,
the
Deity who overcomes the sins of the Kali yug (Iron Age), the Guardian of
the universe, the emblem of Mercy towards all them that sue thee--OM, the
Possessor of all things in vital form, Thou art Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesa
(Siva); Thou art the Lord of the universe; Thou art the proper form of all
things, * moveable and immoveable, the Possessor of the whole. And thus I
adore thee. Reverence be unto thee the Bestower of Salvation; Reverence
be unto thee the Destroyer of the Evil Spirit, Kesi; † O Damadara shew me
favour! Thou art he who resteth upon the face of the Milky Ocean, and who
lieth upon the serpent Sesha. Thou art Trivikrama, who at three strides
encompasseth the earth; I adore thee, who art celebrated by a thousand
names, and under various forms, in the shape of Buddha, the God of
Mercy; be propitious, O thou Most High! Having thus worshipped the
13
Guardian of mankind, he became like one of the just. He joyfully caused a
holy temple to be built of a wonderful construction, and therein were set up
the Divine Feet of Vishnu, for ever Purifier of the sins of mankind; the
images of the Pandus, and the Descents of Vishnu (Avatars); and in like
manner of Brahma and the rest of the divinities." (Hind. Panth. p. 223.)

Capitolul 7
lui Avraam;
unde nimeni n-a slujit altarului,
18. Astfel, porunca dată întâi se desfiinţează, pentru neputinţa şi nefolosul ei;
16
