3 rd person plural-ei/ele
!!! These pronouns are not frequently used with the verbal form since the person
and the number are indicated by the verbal form. The pronoun is only used for
emphasis on the subject:
Eu sunt profesoara şi tu eşti elevul! (I’m the teacher and you are the student!)
Singular: mă te îl o
Plural: ne vă îi le
! !pe- (does not having a meaning here, it is only used with the
constructions above)
RULE!!!
1. When the person of the pronoun in accusative is different from the person
of the verb, then the pronoun is PERSONAL.
Mama mă spală pe cap. (Mama/ eu- 2 different people)
2. When the person of the pronoun in accusative is the same as the person
of the verb, then the pronoun is REFLEXIVE.
Eu mă spăl pe cap. Eu-mă ( the same person)
In French= me, te, se, nous, vous, se)

!!! - The unstressed form of the personal pronoun in Dative can be used without
the stressed form.

Mie îmi dai pixul? Da, ție./ Ție îți dau pixul./ Nu, nu ție îți dau pixul, ci lui.

The stressed form only exists for 3 rd person singular-sie.It is always preceded by
a preposition.
How to make the difference between the accusative and the dative pronouns
When the unstressed pronouns in the accusative or in dative are identical, the
nature of the verb ( trasitivity/ non-transitivity) and the context clarify the
meaning.
Non- transitive verbs are those which represent verbs of movement ( a merge, a
pleca, a veni) or those expressing states – (stări) a sta, a exista. Their actions
cannot be used on an object.
Transitive verbs take direct objects( the receiver of action within sentence)
Le dau niște cărți în română. (I will give them some romanian books.) -Cui? To
whom?( lui Dan & Ion)

Îi aștept la aeroport.( pe cine? Pe Dan & Andrei) whom? Dan& Ion. I will pick
them up at the airport.
Îi cumpăr o carte. ( cui? Lui Cosmin/ to whom? To Cosmin) I will buy him a book.
Ne așteaptă acasă. ( pe cine? Pe Dan & Mihai/ whom? ) They are waiting for us at
home.
Ne cumpără bilete. ( cui? Nouă/ to whom? To us. They are buying us tickets.
Vă cumpără bilete. ( cui? Vouă/ to whom? To you) They are buying you tickets.
