ADJECTIVES – degrees of comparison

⮚ Short adjectives: young, old, cheap, cold, warm, hot, big, small, short, long, tall, fat,
wet, funny, easy, happy

long = lung
longer (than) = mai lung (decât)
much longer (than) = mult mai lung (decât)
longer and longer = din ce în ce mai lung
the longer... the easier = cu cât mai lung... cu atât mai uşor
the longest = cel mai lung
as long as = la fel de lung ca
not so long as = nu ... atât de lung ca
less long than = mai puţin lung decât
very/ extremely long = foarte/ extrem de lung

⮚ Long adjectives: beautiful, interesting, important, powerful, intelligent, pleasant,

unpleasant, dangerous, harmless, expensive, successful

beautiful = frumos
more beautiful (than) = mai frumos (decât)
much more beautiful (than) = mult mai frumos (decât)
