Conectorii din limba engleză ne ajută să fim mai expresivi.

Ei indică raportul dintre acțiuni

și adaugă sens propozițiilor pe care le enunțăm.
În funcție de raportul pe care îl stabilesc între propoziții, conectorii se clasifică în categorii.
Astăzi, ne vom referi la conectorii de rezultat, de contrast, de adăugare și
de enumerare. Pentru fiecare categorie, vom exemplifica trei dintre cei mai întâlniți
conectori.
Result connectors
 therefore: My parents are coming into town this weekend. Therefore, I won’t
be able to attend the event.
(Părinții mei vin în oraș în acest sfârșit de săptămână. Ca atare, nu voi putea să
vin la eveniment.)
 consequently: Tim has been working very hard lately. Consequently, he will
get a bonus this month.
(Tim a lucrat din greu în ultima vreme. În consecință, va primi un bonus în această

 as a result: The kids disrespected their neighbors. As a result, they are now

Contrast connectors

Addition connectors

Listing connectors
 firstly: Firstly, I will take out the trash.
(În primul rând, am să arunc gunoiul.)
 secondly: Secondly, I will clean the carpet.

 thirdly: Thirdly, I will lay back and watch a good movie.

Expresii care vă pot ajuta sa va exprimati ideile:

 Pentru a expune parerea: In my opinion / I believe / I think / In my view / The way I

OPINION ESSAY – eseul de opinie

1. In introducere trebuie sa apara:- descrierea sau prezentarea pe scurt a problemei puse
in discutie+ opinia personala. Expresiile necesare pentru redarea opiniei sunt: In my view;
to my thinking; to my mind; from my point of view; in my opinion; I think; I consider; asa far
asa I am concerned; I believe…….
2. In cuprins trebuie sa apara 2-3 paragrafe pro si contra.
Primul paragraf incepe cu: Firstly; to begin with; to start with+ argument. Se mai folosesc:
however; but; nevertheless; nonetheless, besides, moreover; furthermore.
Al doilea paragraf va incepe cu : secondly+ 2 argumente; Also, For instance, needless to
say
Al treilea paragraf: ;, in contrast, on the other hand;
In concluzie vor aparea urmatoarele formulari: taking all these into consideration/
account; all things considered, for the above mentioned reasons; all in all; Finally; on the
whole+ o reluare a problemei expuse in introducere.
EXEMPLU DE ESEU:
Consideram ca trebuie sa faceti un eseu de opinie asupra urmatoarei teme: “Education is
the basic need of society”.
Introduction: To be educated means to have responsibilities both ins social and moral
domain of life. Education is considered one of the basic need of the society because
without it, we cannot fulfill our dreams.
Main body (cuprins): Firstly I think that it is very important to be educated. However to be
an educated person is very hard. Moreover if …………
Secondly I think that education is the key to succeed. A society that is not ruled by
educated people is not a good society. For instance without education we would live in a
chaos. Needless to say that…………
Concluzii: Taking all these into consideration I think that the education is the most
important in a society. All in all to be well educated comes both from family and school and
it is an integrative part of our life.

ARE ACADEMIC STUDIES IMPORTANT FOR YOUR FUTURE CAREER?

I disagree with the fact that we truly need academy studies. I think it’s not necessary to
have a college or higher studies, it depends on what you want to be in life. It’s true that
higher studies help you in a way, because you will be hired easier than an ordinary man
that has medium studies, because big companies are looking for people with high studies
and helps you to pursue a career if you want one, and you are differentiated by a lot of
people, you are more cultivated than they are.
First of all, I believe that you do not need academy studies to live a decent life. A lot of
people nowadays are rich and famous, probably most of them are happy too… and they
don’t even have a high school finished.
In my opinion you only need to take advantage of every opportunity that is given to you. Or
to have tremendous luck and win the lottery or something. Second of all, in the present I
don’t think that it’s important to have high studies because some people that have medium
studies earn as much money as those who have high studies. I’ll give you an example: I
have a friend whose father works for a construction company, he drives an excavator and
he earns more than my father who is an mechanical engineer with high studies.
The last but not the least, I believe that colleges and academies teach you only things that
I consider unimportant to life. I mean… how does it help you to know by heart
Shakespeare when your girlfriend or boyfriend is dumping you? Or how does it help you
knowing what it’s called the formula C9H13NO3 when your life or the life of a person you
love is in danger? NOTHING! In some cases certainly it helps knowing the formulas and
quote from Shakespeare but only in “some cases”. This is my personal opinion about
academic studies. That they do not helyou in life, and you can handle it on your own if you
have friends and family that you know you can count on, if you’re smart, if you’re brave
enough to take risks and if you have a bit of luck..
