Abstract
Bessarabian short stories for children traveled from 1924 to the present in a tortuous
manner, pigmented by rudimentary „moldovenism”, but also by notable attempts to overcome
conventionality. Designed during the existence of RASSM (1924-1940) on a common pattern
of artificiality and banality, short stories for children in postwar decade will remain constrained
by proletcult pattern, a monstrous „Procustian bed.” At the same time with the 1960s desant
there will be noticed some aesthetic rehabilitation, febrile trying at the level of restructuring of
the formulas, themes, etc., a process consistently continued by next generations.
Keywords: short stories for children, bessarabia, refuge.
