organizaie transmite consumatorilor
sensul familiaritii i ncrederii pentru
produsele sale, cu scopul de a devansa pe
cel transmis de competitorii si.
Campanie Termen utilizat n contextul
publicitii i strategiilor de publicitate i
contiin public pentru a desemna o
serie de activiti conectate, cu scopul de a
obine un rezultat urmrit. Campaniile sunt
relevante pentru designerii specializai
n comunicare i care activeaz n pres,
activitatea acestora find direct legat
de gestionarea informaiei. Pregtirea
campaniilor poate dura sptmni sau ani
i sunt adesea activiti colaborative care
utilizeaz multiple modele de comunicare.
Caracter (n tipografe) Termenul se
folosete ndeosebi cu referire la aspectul
tehnic. Simbol (cum ar f o liter sau un
numr) care reprezint informaie; de
asemenea: reprezentarea unui astfel
de simbol care poate f acceptat de
un computer. Totalitatea caracterelor
de un anume tip (inclusiv semnele de
punctuaie) formeaz un set.
Comunicare vizual Expresie care
descrie combinaia unor elemente de
text, fgurative, formale pentru a transmite
semnifcaii mai dezvoltate dect suma
prilor, adic a nu doar de a transmite idei,
ci de a o face cu un efect potenat.

Designul nu exist ca disciplin exclusiv,

anumit proiect. Din acest punct de vedere,
designul este opus logicii tradiionale
academice care defnete o disciplin.
Design de informaie Proces de
transpunere a unor date complexe,
dezorganizate sau nestructurate
ntr-o informaie accesibil, util i
comprehensibil. Termenul este ntructva
neltor prin faptul c nu neaprat
coninutul informaiei este cel reproiectat,
ci mai curnd forma n care este prezentat.
Design grafc n sens larg, termenul
descrie organizarea contient a textului
i imaginilor pentru a comunica un mesaj
specifc. Termenul se refer att la procesul
prin care este generat comunicarea,
ct i la produsul acestui proces. Acesta
este utilizat pentru a informa, a anuna
sau decora i, n mod tipic, combin
aceste funcii. Cu ct este mai extins
gama estetic i senzorial implicat

Funcionalism Atitudine n practica

dicteaz c funcia are rolul de a defni
logica designului, mai specifc, a formei.
Icon Imagine sau simbol vizual de mici
dimensiuni ce reprezint un obiect sau o
funcie. Iconul se relaioneaz cu referina
sa prin asemnare. Acesta arat, sun,
miroase sau este perceput ca asemntor
cu ceea ce reprezint.
Identitate Caracter sau personalitate
distinct a unui individ sau a unei
entiti. Proprietate a unui lucru, entitate,
organizaie de a f acelai lucru cu ceva
descris sau afrmat i de a-i pstra timp
ndelungat caracterele fundamentale.
Identitate corporatist Armonia
dintre imaginea intern i extern a
unei companii. Elemente de design
prin care o organizaie stabilete o
identitate corespunztoare, coerent
i recognoscibil prin comunicare i
materiale de promovare distribuite.

Logo Semn, marc ale identitii creat
pentru a fi uor recunoscut. Termen
ntructva inadecvat, totui comun

reprezint o companie sau un produs
material sau imaterial. Este imprecis pentru
c termenul grec logos nseamn de fapt
cuvnt sau vorbire, astfel o derivare
mai exact ar fi semn-cuvnt. Un logo, n
mod tipic, const n text, imagine grafic,
sau o combinaie a acestora. Unii consider
logo-ul fundamentul pe care se sprijin
sistemul de identitate corporatist.

mai puin specifc, mrcile comerciale au
existat de pe vremea romanilor, sau mai

Percepie Termen ce se refer la
modul n care finele contiente simt,
interpreteaz i neleg mediul lrgit n
care exist. Proces prin care organizm i
atribuim semnifcaii lumii nconjurtoare.
Designul, pe de o parte, reacioneaz, pe
de alt parte, modeleaz lumea aa cum
o experimentm, n felul acesta find att
modelat, ct i modelator al percepiei
formelor. Percepia implic ntotdeauna
condiionri subiective, find dependent
de o multitudine de factori aparte fa de
aspectele fzice ale obiectului: capacitile
noastre biologice senzoriale, motivaii
i stri emoionale. O component
important a percepiei este efectul
experienelor anterioare. Memoria este
folosit pentru a interpreta i nelege
noile informaii senzoriale. De aceea,
senzaiile singure nu sunt capabile s ne
ofere o nelegere a lumii; avem nevoie
de percepie, care ne furnizeaz cadrul cu
ajutorul cruia codifcm, nmagazinm i
regsim informaia.
Pictogram Reprezentare pictorial, semn
iconic care reprezint fapte complexe, nu
prin cuvinte sau sunete, ci prin purttori
vizuali de sens.
Program de identitate Combinaia
dintre logo i sistemul vizual (tipuri de

conlucreaz la crearea un mesaj pentru o
companie, organizaie, persoan, produs

elemente coordonate cu scopul de a

Dezvoltarea unui sistem de orientare
efcient presupune ca designerul s fe
familiarizat n prealabil cu specifcul acelui
mediu ct i cu tiparele de comportament
tipice i nvate care apar n aria vizat.
Sistemele de orientare sunt implementate
prin mijloace vizuale i acustice i n
general este necesar ca ele s fe accesibile
i inteligibile pentru ct mai muli
utilizatori.
Stilul internaional Titlul unei expoziii
de design i arhitectur care s-a deschis la
Muzeul de Art Modern din New York n
1932. Revista englez Wallpaper prezint
o interpretare contemporan a Stilului
internaional. Aceasta combin Stilul
internaional cu modernismul postbelic,
vzndu-l ca pe un element consistent n
designul contemporan.
Strategie de design Termenul strategie,
utilizat originar n domeniul militar cu
referire la arta de a ctiga btlii, a ajuns
s semnifce orice set de directive, unelte
sau plan pe termen lung avnd ca scop
ndeplinirea unei sarcini competitive.

Textur Element fundamental n design ca
i forma sau culoarea. Nu exist suprafa
fr o textur, chiar dac este neted
ca sticla. n design textura este folosit
pe de o parte ca o calitate a suprafeei
nemijlocit, tactil sau vizual, iar pe de
alt parte, n sens metaforic, ca o expresie
stilistic sau succesiune sintactic de
semne, text, imagini sau aciuni.
Tip de liter Interpretare artistic, sau
design, al unei serii de simboluri scrise,
toate n acelai stil. Un tip de liter include
semne pentru caractere alfabetice,
numerale, semne de punctuaie, varii
simboluri etc. adeseori pentru limbi
diferite. Tipurile de liter sunt, de regul,
grupate n familii cu seturi distincte de
