Argument

Odat cu trecerea timpului devenim tot mai contieni de importana pe care


cunoaterea unei limbi de circulaie internaional o are pentru viaa de zi cu zi. ntr-o
societate care se dezvolt cu o vitez uimitoare, ntr-o lume n care graniele tind s dispar,
ntr-o ar care se ndreapt cu pai repezi spre globalism, posedarea unor mijloace complexe
de comunicare este imperios necesar. Limba englez, ca limb n sine, dar i ca limb a
internetului i a calculatorului, se dovedete a fi un instrument indispensabil n facilitarea
adaptrii la viaa societii contemporane.
Nu mai este un secret pentru nimeni c studiul limbii strine trebuie, sau ar trebui, s
nceap de la vrste fragede, cnd mintea copilului se formeaz i are capacitatea de a
nmagazina informaii fr un efort deosebit. n aceast perioad se formeaz deprinderi i
structuri lingvistice care rmn peste ani i care vor facilita studiul limbii engleze la nivele
mai profunde.
innd cont de toate aceste lucruri, credem c studiul limbii engleze n grdinie este
un pas important n educaia copiilor i, mai mult dect att, le ofer acestora posibilitatea de
a se familiariza cu sunetele i cu structurile limbii engleze. Dac acest prim contact cu limba
strin este ghidat corect de ctre profesor, dac se ine cont de specificul vrstei i dac sunt
folosite metode adecvate, studiul limbii engleze n gradinie se poate concretiza ntr-un real
succes, cu ecouri de durat.

Argument

The time passes and we become more and more conscious of the fact that having the
ability to speak an internationally spread language has a great importance in every-day life. In
a society that develops at top speed, in a world in which the frontiers tend to disappear, in a
country which rapidly turns its steps toward globalization, the possession of complex means
of communication prove to be compulsory. English, as a language in itself, but also as the
language of the internet and of the computer, proves to be an indispensable instrument in the
process of accommodation to the life of the contemporary society.
It is well known that the study of a foreign language must or should begin at early
ages; this is the time when the mind of the child is formed and it has the ability to acquire
information without an important effort. During this period the linguistic customs and
structures are formed; they remain over the years and make possible the study on the English
language at advanced levels.
Taking all these into consideration, we think that the study on English in kindergarden
is an important step in childrens education and, even more: it offers them the possibility to
familiarize with the sounds and the structures of this language. If this very first contact with
the foreign language is correctly guided by the teacher, if the age particularities are taken into
consideration, if the adequate teaching methods are used, the study of English in
kindergarden can be a real success, with long lasting echoes.

Teaching Aims:
To equip children with means of communicating at a basic level in simple spoken
language in predictable situations by:
o Exposing them to prefabricated language, little creative language in the
initial stages;
o Constantly recycling the same language;
To create an English atmosphere with use of pictures, posters or by playing English
songs on a CD;
To present language in meaningful context using games, songs, roles play.

Learning Aims (General and Reference Aims)


To get students acquainted to sounds and pronunciation, to words related to different
topics;
To educate the phonemic hearing;
To be able to repeat, perform, produce language, vocabulary and structures;
To use the acquainted language in real-life situations;
To perceive correctly the proper English intonation and accent;
To practice words and structures in familiar experiences, in order not to get confused;
The child will be able:
To repeat, perform, produce language, vocabulary and structures;
To practice listening for general understanding (short, clear sentences);
To convey messages, information about different topics;
To recognize the specific sounds of the English language;
To pronounce English sounds, words, phrases correctly.
