8 studii au fost luate în considerare pentru meta-analiză, toate comparând apariția reacțiilor adverse în
tratamentul pentru hepatita C care nu conține interferon și cel care presupune administrarea de
interferon. Meta-analiza de tip Forest Plot arată că utilizarea tratamentelor fără interferon este asociată
cu mai puține efecte adverse, arătată și de semnificația statistică (OR – odds ratio/raportul șanselor este
0,331 și interval de încredere (CI) 0,208-0,525). Heterogenitatea nu a fost semnificativă între studii, după
cum se observă în distribuția Funnel Plot. Bias-ul nu este semnificativ statistic, după analizarea acestuia
prin testul de regresie Egger și aflarea valorii p > 0,10.

interferon. Meta-analiza de tip Forest Plot arată că tratamentele fără interferon sunt associate, în
general, cu un effect virologic mai pronunțat, desi semnificația statistică este limitată (OR – odds
ratio/raportul șanselor este 0,542 și interval de încredere (CI) 0,409 - 0,719). Heterogenitatea, totuși, a
fost semnificativă între studii, după cum se observă în distribuția Funnel Plot. Bias-ul este semnificativ
statistic, după analizarea acestuia prin testul de regresie Egger și aflarea valorii p < 0,05. Totuși,
majoritatea studiilor sunt amplasate în partea de sus a Funnel Plot, semnificând faptul că eroarea
standard este mică pentru aceste studii.
