Jurnalul Plērōma continuă seria
de numere dedicate unor tematici
variate, cuprinzând studii științifice
realizate atât de cercetători români,
cât și de specialiști din străinătate. Și
în numărul de față vom avea articole
ce tratează teme de teologia biblică a
Vechiului și Noului Testament, isto‑
ria gândirii creștine și subiecte de eti‑
că creștină. În paginile ce urmează vă
oferim o descriere succintă a acestor
lucrări, lăsându-i pe autorii înșiși să își
prezinte argumentele și concluziile la
care au ajuns în urma cercetării lor.
Primul articol, semnat de dr. Silviu
Tatu, tratează problematica presu‑
puselor dublete din Geneza 15 și 17.
Analizând teoriile critice clasice privi‑
toare la relația dintre cele două texte,
autorul le găsește nemulțumitoare,
întrucât acestea nu iau în calcul o
analiză a discursului. Când o astfel de
investigație are loc, se poate constata
faptul că dubletele amintite pot fi con‑
siderate expresii ale intenției autorului
sacru, precum și ale unității textuale.
Dr. Tatu arată, totodată, că situația
din cap. 15 și 17 ale Genezei nu este
singulară, în cuprinsul cărții, precum
The current issue of Plērōma is
concerned with a wide range of top‑
ics, analyzed in scientific papers writ‑
ten both by Romanian scholars and
foreign specialists. We have included
papers on biblical theology, the his‑
tory of Christian thought and Chris‑
tian ethics. While providing below a
brief description of these papers, we
encourage our readers to follow the
research in detail and discover the au‑
thors’ arguments and conclusions in
their own words.
The first paper, signed by Dr. Sil‑
viu Tatu, discusses the problem of
the supposed doublets in Genesis
15 and 17. Analyzing the classical
theories concerning the relation‑
ship between the two texts, the au‑
thor finds them wanting, because
they do not take into account the
discourse analysis. When such an
investigation is undertaken, the al‑
leged doublets can be interpreted as
tokens of the sacred author’s inten‑
tions and as marks of textual unity.
Dr. Tatu shows that the situation
encountered in Genesis 15 and 17 is
by no means unique; rather, the OT

exemple.
Un articol care realizează o trece‑
re de la studiile veterotestamentare la
cele dedicate Noului Testament este
lucrarea dr. Gheorghe Dragoman,
„Arhetipuri veterotestamentare ale
demnităților lui Hristos”. Autorul
descrie analizează diacronic doctrina
celor trei oficii ale lui Hristos, arătând
mai apoi că această învățătură rămâne
una de actualitate; Domnul Hristos
este Profetul care ne-a adus mesajul
de împăcare al Tatălui, Preotul care
a făcut ispășire pentru noi, și Regele
înălțat, care conduce întregul Univers
în suveranitatea Sa.
Kevin Walker se apleacă asupra
unei chestiuni de filologie biblică;
supunând atenției noastre versetul
16 din 1 Timotei 3, el propune o tra‑
ducere nouă pentru sintagma ὤφθη
ἀγγέλοις. Astfel, ne spune autorul, în
textul paulin ar putea fi vorba de me‑
sageri umani, nu de îngeri ‒ așa cum
s-a considerat, aproape fără excepție,
până acum.
Un alt articol cu implicații clare
pentru contemporaneitate este sem‑
nat de dr. Eugen Jugaru și se intitu‑
lează „Perspectiva lui Luther asupra
activității economice în perioada
Reformei”. Autorul face o analiză a

A paper which marks the transi‑
tion from the OT studies to the NT
studies is the paper of Dr. Gheor‑
ghe Dragoman, “OT Archetypes of
Christ’s offices”. The author evaluates
diachronically the three offices of Je‑
sus Christ, showing that this teaching
continues to remain important: our
Lord Jesus Christ is the Prophet who
brought reconciliation with the Fa‑
ther, the Priest who made atonement
for us, and the exalted King under
whose sovereignty the whole universe
exists.
Kevin Walker focuses on a matter
of biblical philology and investigates 1
Timothy 3:16, offering a new transla‑
tion of the phrase ὤφθη ἀγγέλοις. Thus,
the author believes that Paul may re‑
fer, in his text, to human messengers,
not angels, as has been held hitherto
among commentators almost without
exception.
Another paper with clear implica‑
tions for today’s society is signed by dr.
Eugen Jugaru and is titled “Luther’s
Perspective on the Economic Activity
during the Reformation”. The author
embarks on an analysis of the social
and economic situation of the 16th
century, describing Martin Luther’s

situației sociale și economice din se‑
colul XVI, descriind apoi contribuția
lui Martin Luther în domenii precum
economia și etica muncii. Dr. Jugaru
vede o legătură fermă între dezvol‑
tarea teologică și cea economică din
țările influențate de Reformă; astfel,
Luther, de exemplu, a accentuat în
scrierile sale conceptul de vocație și cel
de sârguință arătată în muncă. Munci‑
torul trebuie să descopere o adevărată
bucurie în actul muncii, întrucât, în
cele din urmă, el lucrează pentru slava
lui Dumnezeu.
Un ultim articol, scris de drd. Ci‑
prian Gheorghe-Luca, tratează, din
punct de vedere etic și teologic, fe‑
nomenul social al coabitării. Autorul
ne prezintă principalele caracteris‑
tici, cauze și consecințe ale coabită‑
rii, apoi propune o reflecție etico-te‑
ologică menită să pună la dispoziția
credincioșilor un precept etic de ur‑
mat în această chestiune spinoasă.
Sperăm că și acest număr de jurnal
va contribui la creșterea spirituală și la
îmbogățirea intelectuală și teologică a
cititorilor noștri, cărora le dorim lec‑
tură plăcută!

and work ethics. Dr. Jugaru sees a firm
connection between the theological
development and the economic rise of
the countries which came under the
influence of the Reformation. Because
in his writings Luther emphasized the
concept of vocation and the idea of
earnestness which needs to be proved
in one’s activity, workers were called
upon to enjoy their work and be aware
that, ultimately, their toil was for the
glory of God.
The last paper of this issue, written
by Ciprian Gheorghe-Luca (Ph.D.
candidate), assesses ethically and theo‑
logically the social phenomenon of
cohabitation. The author presents the
main characteristics, causes and con‑
sequences of cohabitation, and pro‑
ceeds to offer an ethical and theologi‑
cal reflection meant to make available,
for the believers, an ethical guideline
which can be followed when dealing
with this sensitive issue.
We hope that this issue of our jour‑
nal will not only enhance the readers’
spiritual growth, but also enrich them
intellectually and theologically.
