r f u l u i D î m b o v i ţ a , p e u n c o l ţ d e m u n t e , s e află u r m e l e u n u i l o c î n t ă r i t ş i
o mică b i s e r i c ă săpată f n s t f n c ă , c u n o s c u t e s u b d e n u m i r e a d e C e t ă ţ u i a
ş i s c h i t u l l u i " N e g r u V o d ă " . C e t ă ţ u i a domină v a l e a r f u l u i d e - a lungul
căruia t r e c e v e c h i u l d r u m a l Braşovului p r i n R u c ă r - T î r g o v i ş t e - T î r g ş o r
- B r ă i l a , s a u d e - a l u n g u l Dîmboviţei p r i n B u c u r e ş t i s p r e G i u r g i u .
C e t ă ţ u i a ş i a ş e z a r e a c u p r i n d c u l m e a denumită " P l e a ş a P o p i i " , ca
ş i t e r a s a c e s e întinde l a p o a l e l e a c e s t e i a d e - a l u n g u l D î m b o v i ţ e i ; s p r e
miazănoapte c u l m e a e mărginită de V a l e a l u i C o m a n ; s p r e miazăzi de
V a l e a C h i l i e i . A m b e l e v ă i sfnt brăzdate de cîte u n pfrîu c e se v a r s ă f n
D î m b o v i ţ a . E l e c o n s t i t u i e u r i a ş e f o r t i f i c a ţ i i n a t u r a l e în j u r u l cetăţuiei
d e pe c u l m e .
T e r a s a î n g u s t ă , d e l a p o a l e l e c e t ă ţ u i e i , î ş i g ă s e ş t e r e p l i c a pe m a ­
l u l d r e p t a l r f u l u i . A m b e l e t e r a s e a u f o s t l o c u i t e în e p o c a a d o u a a f i e ­
r u l u i , i a r c e a d e p e m a l u l s t i n g m a i i n t e n s , m a i c u seamă în t i m p u l e v u ­
lui mediu.
Această a ş e z a r e , d e s p r e c a r e n i s - a u păstrat ştiri datorită unor
c e r c e t ă t o r i , c f t ş i r e l a t ă r i l o r u n o r c ă l ă t o r i ^ , e s t e menţionată u n e o r i ,

în l i t e r a t u r a n o a s t r ă d e s p e c i a l i t a t e , în m o d e r o n a t s u b d e n u m i r e a de
"Cetatea de l a Stoieneşti", dfhd a d e s e o r i p r i l e j de c o n f u z i i ^ . L a S t o i e -
n e ş t i , l o c a l i t a t e situată l a v r e o 8 k m m a i l a n o r d s e a f l ă o c e t ă ţ u i e d e
pămîht f o l o s i t ă , după c u n o ş t i n ţ e l e n o a s t r e a c t u a l e , f n v r e m e a l u i M i h a i
V i t e a z u l . C a a t a r e , a ş e z a r e a d i n epoca a doua a f i e r u l u i şi de l a î n c e ­
p u t u l f e u d a l i s m u l u i , ş i c e a d i n p r e a j m a c e t ă ţ u i e i , z i s ă a l u i N e g r u Vodă,
confundată p r i n d e n u m i r e a " C e t a t e a d e l a S t o i e n e ş t i " t r e b u i e identifi­
c a t e c u staţiunea situată î n t r e C o t e n e ş t i ş i C e t ă ţ e n i , p e c a r e o v o m d e ­
numi "Cetăţenii d i n V a l e " .
A m întreprins a i c i c e r c e t ă r i şi săpături a r h e o l o g i c e fn anii 1940,
1941 ş i 1 9 4 2 , d i n î n s ă r c i n a r e a f o s t e i C o m i s i u n i a M o n u m e n t e l o r I s t o r i c e .

S t u d i u l de faţă, c o n c e p u t f h u r m a săpăturilor a r h e o l o g i c e se stră­
duieşte a e l u c i d a c f t e v a p r o b l e m e d i n d o m e n i u l i s t o r i e i n o a s t r e , lnfir-
m f n d totodată o e e r i e d e a s e r ţ i u n i a l e u n o r c e r c e t ă t o r i ; e l v a c o n s t i t u i ,
fh c f t e v a numere s u c c e s i v e , co v o r f i încredinţate publicării, o mono­
g r a f i e istorică şi arheologică a u n o r l o c u r i p r e d e s t i n a t e p r i n aşezarea
l o r să j o a c e u n r o l d e seamă f n t r e c u t u l n o s t r u m a i puţin c u n o s c u t , m e ­
l e a g u r i străjuite, cum vom arăta, de C e t a t e a Dîmboviţa. N u sfhtem cei
d i n t f i c e o situărn îh a c e s t p u n c t ; v e n i m d o a r c u d a t e a r h e o l o g i c e co-
n e x f n d u - l e c e l o r i s t o r i c e f h s p r i j i n u l a c e s t e i p o s t u l ă r i . Şi a l ţ i cerce­
t ă t o r i a u căutat a l o c a l i z a a i c i a ş e z a r e a ş i v a m a d e p e n d i n ţ e d e această
c e t ă ţ u i e ; l e v o m r e z u m a p r e s u p u n e r i l e a r ă t î h d totodată că s i t u a r e a f o r ­
t i f i c a ţ i e i îh a l t e l o c u r i n u p o a t e c o r e s p u n d e r e a l i t ă ţ i i 7 .
I n t i m p u l s ă p ă t u r i l o r d o l a C e t ă ţ e n i a u apărut u n e l e s t u d i i valo­
r o a s e , îh s p r i j i n u l a c e l e i a ş i l o c a l i z ă r i a c e t ă ţ i i Dîmboviţa lfngă Cetă-
ţeni8; a l t e l e , deşi'tratează acelaşi s u b i e c t sfnt a s t f e l concepute încît
n u p o t f i c i t a t e c a l u c r ă r i ş t i i n ţ i f i c e d e ş i conţin ş i u n e l e d a t e j u s t e , î n ­
suşite de l a alţii şi r e d a t e c a p r o d u s e p r o p r i i .
P e n t r u a n u p r o c e d a f h a c e l a ş i f e l , v o m menţiona p ă r e r i l e unor

T r a d i ţ i a locală ne s p u n e că d e n u m i r e a p r o v i n e de l a locuinţa pe care

Domniţa ş i - a o l ă d i t - o p e a c e s t c o l ţ . A m c o n t i n u a t d r u m u l d e p e malul
s t i n g a l r f u l u i ş i n u d e p a r t e d e V a d u - l i n a m pătruns î n t r - o livadă de
p r u n i . î n t r e a c e a s t a ş i Colţul F o i ş o a r e l e se poate încă b i n e distinge
C e t a t e a ; c i t a d e l a , a l c ă r e i amplasament alcătuieşte u n c o t s p r e Dîmbo­
v i ţ a , p r e d o m i n ă p o z i ţ i a f n z a r e f n a m o n t e c a ş i în a v a l u l r f u l u i . Astăzi
n - a u m a i rămas d i n a c e s t e f o r t i f i c a ţ i i decît ondulaţii avînd f o r m a geo­
metrică a u n u i t r a p e z , reprezentînd d e s i g u r v e c h i l e şanţuri, căci a¬
c e s t e o n d u l a ţ i i sînt I m e d i a t u r m a t e d e o zonă mamelonată c a r e l e măr­
g i n e ş t e . A c e a s t ă zonă r e p r e z i n t ă p r o b a b i l , z i d u r i l e în r u i n ă a l e a c e s t e i

" A m a t r a s a p o i atenţia a c e s t o r d o m n i a s u p r a a l t u i colţ m a i înalt
s i t u a t l a s u d d e P l e a ş a - P o p i i , n u d e p a r t e de I s i s ; e l reprezintă u n d o l ­
men manoped a l e p o c i l o r m e g a l i t i c e . U n bloc c o l o s a l v î r î t d e - a l a t u l pe

c a r e p r e d o m i n ă C o l ţ u l P i ţ i g a i a menţionat m a i s u s . D o l m e n u l n u e s t e d e ­
p a r t e d e C e t ă ţ u i a N e g r u V o d ă ; t r e c u t u l ş i p r e z e n t u l s e a t i n g şi s e ar­
monizează f h t r - u n p e r f e c t a c o r d " 5. 1

" D e a i c i m e r s e r ă m să v i z i t ă m u n m e n - s a o ( b r e t o n : m e n : p i a t r ă , -
s a o : f n p i c i o a r e ) p e c a r e - 1 d e s c o p e r i s e m f h o c t o m b r i e 1876 Acest men-
sao a r e o î n ă l ţ i m e d e d o i m e t r i ş i s u p r a f a ţ a l u i o lăţime d e 3 , 7 5 m .
P e faţa d e s p r e n o r d a a c e s t u i i n t e r e s a n t m e n - s a o s e văd î n c r u s t a t e c a ­
r a c t e r e g r a f i c e r u n i c e " ( f i g . 1 ) . S e m n u l d i n m i j l o c reprezintă c r u c e a şl
m a r c a simbolică a l u i " M j o e l l n i " , c i o c a n u l z d r o b i t o r a l z e u l u i Thor,
m a r c a , c a r e după D l . A u g u s t e D e m i n s e află. p e m o n u m e n t e l e a n t e i s t o -
r i c e şi antecreştineşti a l e S c a n d i n a v i e ! (Encyclopédie des Beaux a r t s
p l a s t i q u e s , P a r i s , 1 8 7 3 , p a g . 8 9 ) . D e a i c i urcăm s p r e n o r d d r u m u l v e ­
c h i , p ă r ă s i t a z i , c a să t r e c e m î h c r u c i ş e t u r a c e l o r două b l o c u r i e r a t i c e
d e m a i s u s p e n t r u a l e a r ă t a pe p e r e ţ i i b l o c u l u i d i n d r e a p t a u n o m ţinînd
fn mfha l u i dreaptă u n i n s t r u m e n t g r o s o l a n săpat" ( f i g . 2 ) . . . " n u pot a¬
f i r m a f h ce epocă se poate a t r i b u i această reminiscenţă artistică, t o t c e
m a i pot adăuga a i c i e c ă d e a s u p r a l u i s e o b s e r v ă n i ş t e c a r a c t e r e c i r i l i c e
n e d e s c i f r a b i l e , c u o c r u c e a c ă r e i b r a ţ e sîht f o r m a t e d i n t r e i triun­
g h i u r i c u b a z e l e l o r d i n a f a r ă ş i u n g h i u r i l e a d u n a t e l a u n loc. ( c r o i x
p a t t e , f n formă d e l a b ă ) . A c e a s t ă c r u c e figurează pe m a i m u l t e b l o c u r i
eratice presărate fh lungul acestui d r u m .
" D e l a î h c r u c i ş e t u r a a c e s t o r două b l o c u r i pfnă l a V a l e a C h i l i a s p r e
s u d , a e x i s t a t o staţiune r o m a n ă , c a r e t r e b u i a să f a c ă p a r t e d i n p r e a ^ n a
Cetăţuiei - c e vă menţionai m a i s u s . U r m e l e , a m f o r e l e , u r c i o a r e l e , p a ­
t e r e l e , mărgelele de sticlă, olăria fh genere precum şi inscripţia
g r e a c ă ştampilată p e mănuşa u n e i a m f o r e , c a a c e i a g ă s i t ă p e m a l u l d r e p t
a l D î m b o v i ţ e i n e p o t d a bănuiala c ă a i c i a r f i e x i s t a t o staţiune d i n e¬
poca i m p e r i u l u i b i z a n t i n " 6.

p r i v e ş t e a m f o r e l e , p a t e r e l e , u r c i o a r e l e , a u t r e b u i t să f i e î n t r - o canti­
t a t e f o a r t e m a r e j u d e c i n d după c i o b u r i l e l o r d i s i m u l a t e p r i n c r ă p ă t u r i l e
ş i p e p a n t a a c e s t e i c o l i n e . M a i mulţi m u n t e n i b ă t r î n i m - a u a s i g u r a t că
după p l o i a b u n d e n t e pămîntul s e afundă f h a c e s t e c r ă p ă t u r i ş i d e z v ă l u i e
amfore şi f e l u r i t e v a s e . "Iată, zise unul d i n t r e e i , n - a u t r e c u t n i c i d o i
a n i ş i u n om a găsit o amforă plină c u b a n i d e a r g i n t l a p i c i o a r e l e col-

" D e ş i D n i i . de R o s n y şi Lesouëf n - a u p u t u t v i z i t a cetăţuia l u i N e ­

g r u V o d ă t o t u ş , e u c a r e a m e x p l o a t a t - o d e a t f t e a o r i e b i n e să relatez
a i c i c f t e v a d e s c o p e r i r i a mele ; p e n t r u a ajunge l a această citadelă se
a f l ă o p o t e c ă în z i g - z a g p e P l e a ş a P o p e i în v f r f u l c ă r e i a s e află cetă­
ţ u i a . M a i f h t î i s e o b s e r v ă b i s e r i c u ţ a săpată în p i a t r ă ş i c u intrarea
d e s p r e a p u s , i a r p e p e r e t e l e d e s p r e r ă s ă r i t a l b l o c u l u i - în c a r e se
a f l ă săpată b i s e r i c u ţ a s e o b s e r v ă u n c ă l ă r e ţ săpat f n p i a t r ă , c a r e p a r e
a f i t i m p a n u l bisericuţei şi a s t f e l s - a r d a a c r e d e că a c e s t călăreţ ar
f i Sf .Gheorghe patronul e i .

s e v e d e f n s c r i p ţ i u n e a : " A c e s t s c h i t a f o s t r e p a r a t în t i m p u l Domniei

N e o f i t , c u a j u t o r u l şi c h e l t u i a l a preoţilor loan f i u l l u i P o p a E n i , loan
f i u l l u i Popa Neagul, Bucur Onpoci N i c o l a e , fiul l u i B u c u r , loan fiul
l u i Sene, loan fiul l u i Popa Ionake, Gheorghe Diaconescu, anul 1859,
I u n i e 1 ; b i s e r i c a e s t e dedicată A d o r m i r i i M a i c i i D o m n u l u i pe f r a g m e n t u l
u n e i c r u c i c a r e s l u j e ş t e a c u m d e p r a g l a uşa d i n t r e tindă ş i a m v o n se
află inscripţia următoare c u c a r a c t e r e c i r i l i c e : " S p r e p o m e n i r e această
s f . C r u c e r i d i c a t u s a u de r o b u l l u i D - z e u M i h a i l Bărbătescu B i v - v e l
S p ă t a r u ş i d e s o ţ i a l u i M a r i a în z i l e l e l u i . . . ( r e s t u l e s p a r t ) . P e par­
t e a s t i n g ă e s c r i s "ΛΗ(*>?Α<\β> ( 7 1 3 2 s a u 1 6 2 4 ) ; d e s i g u r c ă poate fi
Alexandru al V-lea, l u i R a d u a l X - l e a , după c u m n e c o n d u c e a
crede leatul acestei c r u c i c a r e este 1624. Un a l d o i l e a fragment de
c r u c e r i d i c a t p e n t r u p o m e n i r e a l u i Frâţilă şi a Neacşei de sub domnia
l u i Ştefan V o e v o d c u l e a t u l 7200 i a r r e s t u l s p a r t .
L a c a r e d o m n d i n M u n t e n i a se r e f e r ă această inscripţiune ? Căci
d u p e i s t o r i a n o a s t r ă n u cunoaştem s ă f i d o m n i t în î n t r e g s e c o l u l a l 1 7 - l e a
v r e u n D o m n c u n u m i r e de Ştefan, poate că e a se r e f e r ă l a v r e u n u d i n
D o m n i i d i n M o l d a v i a ^ c u o asemenea n u m i r e p r e c u m l a c e i următori:

de f i e r d i n t r - o cuirasă şi m a i multe fragmente c a cuţit, c r u c e de fier
( v e z i p l a n ş a ) u n lanţ f r a g m e n t e c e r a m i c e c a r e s f n t c u t o t u l d e altă f a c ­
tură c a c e l e d i n staţiunea romană de l a p o a l e l e p a n t e i a c e s t u i munte d o ­
vadă evidentă u n e i e p o c i r o m a n e ( s i c i v e z i n o t a 1 6 . D . V . R . ) .

sute de m e t r i , această v a l e într-o adevărată cfmpie a l u i Deucalion.
D r u m u l , astăzi d e s t u l de b u n , e r a , n u m a i d e p a r t e de a n u l 1890,aşa de
g r e u , î n c î t n u p u t e a f i s t r ă b ă t u t d e c î t c ă l a r e , după c e s e t r e c e d e p a ­
t r u o r i p r i n v a d u l Dfmboviţii, f o a r t e p e r i c u l o s p r i n r e p e z i c i u n e a ape­
l o r . Căruţele de a b i a î ş i făceau l o c p r i n t r e stîncile c ă z u t e ; fh d r u m u l
v e c h i a m a f l a t f ă g a ş u r i l e r o a t e l o r l o r p r i n piatră şi s g î r i e t u r a o s i i l o r
pe p e r e ţ i i s t r î m t o r i l o r p r i n c a r e t r e c e a u " .
" P e această p o z i ţ i e , aşa de b i n e organizată n a t u r a l , unde colţii

d i n a c e s t e s t f h c i se m a i pot v e d e a rămăşiţele u n e i v e c h i cetăţi fn care
s - a a m e n a j a t o mică b i s e r i c ă ş i l o c u i n ţ e p e n t r u c f ţ i v a c ă l u g ă r i . Astăzi
fhcă a c e s t l o c m a i p o a r t ă n u m e l e d e C e t a t e a N e a g r ă s a u C e t a t e a N e g r u ­
l u i V o d ă ; d e n u m i r e a p a r e a c o n f i r m a t r a d i ţ i a , p r i n c a r e R a d u Vodă a
a l e s această c e t a t e d r e p t l o c de r e f u g i u împotriva a t a c u r i l o r duşmanilor
s ă i , f h faţa c ă r o r a a r e z i s t a t a i c i t i m p îndelungat"30.
Această d e s c r i e r e a l u i S u l z e r a fost greşit interpretată de unii
c e r c e t ă t o r i , c a r e c r e d că S u l z e r a făcut o c o n f u z i e punînd c e t a t e a lui
N e g r u V o d ă l î n g ă D r a g o s l a v e l e ş i că d e f a p t e l s - a r r e f e r i l a c e t ă ţ u i a ^
d e l a R u c ă r ( O r a ţ i a ) . P r i n t r e a c e ş t i a s e numără W . H a r w a t h , G ^ E . M u l l e r
şi I . C l i n c i u " ^ » c o n f u z i a p o r n i n d de l a W . H o r w a t h .
D e s c r i e r e a c o r e c t ă a l u i S u l z e r ş i că a c e s t a s e r e f e r ă d e s i g u r l a
c e t ă ţ u i a d i n t r e C o t e n e ş t i ş i C e t ă ţ e n i , r e i e s e îh m o d c l a r d i n c o n t i n u a ­
r e a d e s c r i e r i i - ' " . . . că strîmtoarea periculoasă a a p e l o r d i n Dîmbo­
viţa d e l a C e t a t e a N e a g r ă , poate f i o c o l i t ă , am c o n s t a t a t d i n propria
mea experienţă, f i i n d c o n d u s , fh t i m p u l a p e l o r rrtari, peste c r e a s t a unui
m u n t e , pe c a r e e r a u n d r u m f o a r t e l a r g , de unde v e d e r e a c u p r i n d e a î n ­
t r e g u l M u n c e l . A c e s t d r u m p o r n e ş t e d e l a D r a g o s l a v e l e , îh p a r t e a s t i n ­
g ă a D î m b o v i ţ i i s p r e a s e p i e r d e f h s u s , s p r e a r e a p a r e după două c e a ­
s u r i ş i jumătate i a r ă ş i l a r f u , f h d r u m u l o b i c i n u i t , l a C î r c i u m a Dom­

Cele de m a i s u s , c r e d , sfiit suficiente p e n t r u l o c a l i z a r e a d e s c r i e ­

r i i l u i S u l z e r l a Cetăţeni şi i d e n t i f i c a r e a c e l u i de a l d o i l e a d r u m prin
c a r e se poate o c o l i acest punct s t r a t e g i c .
In privinţa a c e s t u i d r u m , e l pare a f i avut şi o ramificaţie deasu -
p r a Colţului D o a m n e i . C . D . A r i c e s c u ^ ? r e l a t e a z ă : " T r a d i ţ i a m a i zice
c ă d i n a c e s t v î r f s e f ă c e a u două d r u m u r i pe c u l m e a m u n ţ i l o r : d i n e l e ,
u n u l m e r g e a d r e p t f h a l b i a Dîmboviţii, şi a l t u l d r e p t f h muntele Sf . I l i e ;
c f n d s - a r c u r ă ţ i i a c e s t e două d r u m u r i , am p u t e a m e r g e p e e l e c a p e o
şosea".
D i n t r e cercetătorii m a i v e c h i , D i m i t r i e B u t c u l e s c u , a fost p r i m u l
c a r e ş i - a d a t seama d e importanţa a c e s t e i a ş e z ă r i c o n s e m n f h d date p r e ­
ţ i o a s e f h î n s e m n ă r i l e s a l e i n e d i t e , făcînd s c h i ţ e ş i d e s e n e e x a c t e după
unele monumente, f h v e d e r f h d şi n e c e s i t a t e a a se întreprinde a i c i să­
pături a r h e o l o g i c e : "Mă g îndese că t o a t e a c e s t e t e z a u r e a r h e o l o g i c e a r
putea desvălui bogate d e s c o p e r i r i p e n t r u i s t o r i a m a i veche a aşezării
n o a s t r e dacă s - a r începe a i c i săpături s i s t e m a t i c e c u u n om p r i c e p u t ,
nu numai devotat c i şi întreprinzător, c u r agio s şi e n e r g i c . Căci nu-şi
pune o r i c i n e viaţa f h j o c c e r c e t f n d aceşti colţi p r ă p ă s t i o ş i " ^ .
O m a r e p a r t e d i n m a t e r i a l u l arheologic cules de B u t c u l e s c u a i n ­
t r a t fh p a t r i m o n i u l M u z e u l u i Naţional de Antichităţi d i n Bucureşti,
Un pasionat colecţionar, d a r ale cărui " c e r c e t ă r i " au produs d i n
n e f e r i c i r e stricăciuni, T a c h e B e j a n d i n R u c ă r , a scormonit pe c o n t p r o ­
p r i u , a n i d e - a r î n d u l , pfnă f h p r e a j m a l u i 1 9 4 0 , p o a l e l e c e t ă ţ i i ş i t e r a s a
stfhgă a D î m b o v i ţ i i , a d u n f h d u n b o g a t m a t e r i a l a r h e o l o g i c , f n c e a m a i
m a r e p a r t e d i n e p o c a m a i nouă a f i e r u l u i , d i n a ş e z a r e a d a c o - g e t i c ă . A ¬
c e s t m a t e r i a l a i n t r a t , f h p a r t e , f h c o l e c ţ i i l e m u z e e l o r d i n Cîmpulung-
M u s c e l şi P i t e ş t i .
C i t a d e l a d e l a C e t ă ţ e n i ş i a ş e z a r e a , u n d e postulăm a f i f o s t C e t a ­
t e a şi V a m a Dîmboviţa, fac p a r t e d i n g r u p u l fortificaţiilor r i d i c a t e pe
v î r f u r i şi c o l ţ i de m u n t e , c a o consecinţă a situaţiei t o p o g r a f i c e a ţinu­
t u l u i ş i a p r o c e s u l u i d e d e z v o l t a r e c a r e s - a d e s f ă ş u r a t fii c u p r i n s u l său.
Cum vom vedea, f h s t u d i i l e ce urmează, a i c i , p e n t r u toate tre­
buinţele, n u n u m a i p e n t r u s t r i c t u l n e c e s a r , s - a avut grijă şi de a d a o ­
s u r i a r t i s t i c e , p e n t r u plăcerea o c h i l o r dar,şi aceasta numai îhtr-o a¬
numită m ă s u r ă , p a r c ă p e n t r u a n u i m p i e t a a s u p r a ambianţei naturale,
p e n t r u a n u o d i s t r u g e p r i n t r - u n s u r p l u s d e i n t e r v e n ţ i e umană ; melea­
g u r i c e a u c u p r i n s , c u m v o m d e m o n s t r a , u n c e n t r u p o l i t i c , m i l i t a r ş i e¬
c o n o m i c înainte d e înjghebarea noastră statală ş i f o a r t e p r o b a b i l o r e ­
şedinţă domnească.

c e s t a p r e f e c t u l u i de a t u n c i C . N . , fără a - i se m a i d a de urmă. Ne în­
trebăm dacă v a f i f o s t de a u r v a l o a r e a intrinsecă a m e t a l u l u i , v a f i f o s t
m a i de preţ, decît v a l o a r e a l u i c a v e c h i document i s t o r i c ? " .

Iată c u m sînt m o r m i n t e l e : ş a s e p i e t r e s ă p a t e c u d a l t a f n formă
dreptunghiulară, formează b a z a , l a t u r i l e şi acoperişul cavoului.înăun­
t r u s - a u găsit oase l u n g i . . . şi c r a n i i voluminoase a c ă r o r grosime e
d e 1 c m ; s - a u g ă s i t ş i v a s e d e pămfnt c u formă minunată d e c ă d e l n i ţ ă ,
sau candelă a r t i s t i c lucrată . . . toate a c e s t e a . . . l e - a m r i d i c a t spre
p ă s t r a r e îh m i c u l m u z e u a l ş c o a l e i " .
" F e l u l c u m sfnt aşezate m o r m i n t e l e , dovedesc f a p t u l că luptătorii
n - a u fost creştini ortodocşi, căci direcţia m o r m i n t e l o r este de l a M z .
spre M n " .
" A c u m v r e o t r e i a n i , t o t f h acest l o c , s - a găsit un s c h e l e t - p r o ­
b a b i l a l u n u i a n i m a l ; s - a u găsit 16 măsele l u n g i de a p r o a p e 1 d m . , c a r e
n u c r e d e m că a r f i de l a u n a n i m a l d i n e r a noastră. U n a d i n măsele o
avem l a ş c o a l ă . . . Pe l u n g i m e a a c e s t u i d r u m , atft s p r e M z . c f t şi s p r e
M n . se găsesc modificări a l e c u t e l o r t e r e n u l u i s u b f o r m a u n o r întări-
t u r i a r t i f i c i a l e - r e d u t e - asemănătoare c u a c e i a d i n j u r u l m o r m i n t e l o r ,
unde c r e d e m că se v a m a i găsi m u l t e documente de p r e ţ . . . " .
D u m i t r u I.Băjan ne spune, fh privinţa aceleiaşi d e s c o p e r i r i : " . . «
fh v a r a a c e a s t a . . . v r f n d a se săpa f h t r - u n m a i d a n , nişte săteni au
d a t d e u r m e l e u n o r m o r m i n t e . . . n o i l e - a m p u t u t v e d e a l a faţa l o c u l u i şi
n e - a m d a t pe d e p l i n seama de a d e v ă r " .

a găsit de cuviinţă a l e s u p r i m a de l a l o c u l l o r . D l . B u g h e a n u a s c o s

s a b i e c u mîner intactă ş i o s e m i n t e d e c a l . După o r d i n e s a b i a s - a r i d i c a t
d e p r e f e c t u l j u d e ţ u l u i , d e p u n î n d u - s e , u n i i p r e t i n d c ă însuşi R e g e l e Ca­
r o l I a d o r i t - o şi i s - a d a t . . . . "
" S a b i a n e f i i n d de a u r , e r a p r o b a b i l de b r o n z şi dacă s - a r admite
a c e a s t ă i p o t e z ă , v o m ş t i ş i v î r s t a l a c a r e t r e b u i e să l e r a p o r t ă m , a m o r ­
m i n t e l o r d e s c o p e r i t e . . . c r e d e m că ş i m o r m i n t e l o r d e l a C e t ă ţ e n i l i se

mîhtului I e r a , după s p u s e l e l u i H o i n a r u , identică c u d i r e c ţ i u n e a ob­
s e r v a t ă în c e l e l a l t e m o r m i n t e a n t e r i o a r e , u n i n d i c i u s i g u r d e s p r e p r i o ­

I n mormînt s - a u g ă s i t 5 p i e s e : o c a l o t ă c r a n i a n ă f r a g m e n t a r ă c u u n î n ­
c e p u t de trepanaţie, u n f r a g m e n t de m a x i l a r , u n d i n t e c a n i n , o ceaşcă
funerară (vas adiacent) d i n l u t şi o brăţară de b r o n z ( f i g . 1 ) . Aceste
p i e s e d e s c o p e r i t e f h a n u l 1952 ( s i c ! ) se găsesc astăzi l a secţia de is­
t o r i e a orînduirii comunei p r i m i t i v e a Muzeului r a i o n a l Cfmpulung M u s ­
c e l regiunea Piteşti, cu n r . 9 - 1 0 - 1 1 - 1 2 - 2 7 3 " .
" P i e s a ceramică, de d i m e n s i u n i r e d u s e , a r e d i a m e t r u l superior
d e 9 9 m m , d i a m e t r u l f u n d u l u i d e 32 mm ş i c i r c u m f e r i n ţ a p ă r ţ i i mediane
d e 3 1 0 m m . î n ă l ţ i m e a e s t e d e 65 m m . A r e 4 u r e c h i u ş e v e r t i c a l e g ă u r i t e
ş i e s t e t i p i c ă e p o c i i b r o n z u l u i d i n s p a ţ i u l c a r p a t i c , ( s i c ! ) c a pastă şi
formă abătîhdu-se îhsă de l a a c e l h o r r o r vac u i s p e c i f i c e p o c i i . Are
i n c i z a t e cîteva s i m p l e motive r e c t i l i n i i , f r f h t e şi t r i u n g h i u r i . L a des­
c o p e r i r e conţinea giuuuţe de c e r e a l e , ( s i c ! ) mîncare p e n t r u c e l m o r t ,
p e n t r u " v i a ţ a dé d i n c o l o " .

şi P . R e i n e c k e , fn p e r i o a d a I - a a p r i m u l u i şi A - B a c e l u i l a l t , r e s p e c t i v
fn c u r s u l a n i l o r 1600-1500 f . e . n . . . . Este a l doilea c a z d e s c r i s l a noi,
de c r a n i u trépanât d i n e p o c a b r o n z u l u i şi a l u n u s p r e z e c i l e a ( s i c i ) din
timpul comunei primitive . . . "

inel.de bronz. S-au găsit tonte neacopnrile. Tot acest mal t r e ­
b u i e c e r c e t a t p r i n şanţuri p e n t r u căutarea de m o r m i n t e . Piatra este
e x a c t a c e l a ş i m a t e r i a l c a " l a C r u c e " . O r i e n t a r e a C a p u l l a nud c u o d e ­
v i a ţ i e s p r e v e s t d e 3 5 , 3 6 ° . A năpat l . G h . C o r n o c l u d i n Cetăţenii din
Deal".

" P e o v e c h e hartă d i n m u z e u l Ţ ă r i i B î r s e i d i n B r a ş o v am găsit

p e n t r u a c e s t ţinut o d e n u m i r e : K e r t z e b u r g . O f i a c e s t n u m e i d e n t i c cu
c e t a t e a Radu N e g r u ? Tradiţia ţăranilor d i n B r e a z a povesteşte că Radu
N e g r u a t r e c u t p e s t e munţi d e l a C f m p u l u n g s p r e A r d e a l ş i a o c u p a t ţara.
A t u n c i ş i - a clădit c e t a t e a p e n t r u a stăpîni ţara ( a n u m e ' t r e c e r e a ) . D a r
c f n d a t e r m i n a t - o , s - a r e t r a s c u o a s t e a s a i a r ă ş i p e s t e munţi ş i η - a m a i
revenit.

apparêtre, concernant l e s découvertes archéologiques de l a Station
mentionée.
Dans l e p r e m i e r c h a p i t r e sont relatées les rechérehes effect ées
p a r C . B u t c u l e s c u , archéologue amateur et c o l l e c t i o n e u r d'antiquités à
