Batalia de la Vaslui

Bătălia de la Vaslui, menționată uneori drept Bătălia de la Podul Înalt, a avut loc în data
de 10 ianuarie 1475 lângă orașul Vaslui, între armatele aliate creștine moldo-maghiaro-polone
sub comanda lui Ștefan cel Mare și oastea otomano-munteană sub conducerea lui Suleiman Pașa.

În pofida diferenței mari de forțe, turcii au suferit o înfrângere zdrobitoare, pierzând

(după spusele unor cronicari) aproape toată armata. Este considerată cea mai mare înfrângere din
istoria islamului în fața unei armate creștine, Ștefan cel Mare fiind numit eroul creștinătății.

The battle of Vaslui

The battle of Vaslui, sometimes mentioned as The battle of High Bridge, took place in
10th January 1475 near the town Vaslui, between the Christian allied armyes moldovan-
hungarian-polish under the command of Stefan the Great and the ottoman-wallachian army lead
by Suleiman Pasa.

Despite the big difference between the forces, the ottomans suffered an overwhelming
defeat, losing (from what chroniclers said) almost the entire army. It is considered to be the
biggest loss from the islam history in front of an Christian army, Stefan the Great being named

the hero of Christianity.
