Dacă mă crede mort, o să se întoarcă la el și copilul o să aibă un acoperiș deasupra
capului.

“You can have some home-brewed if you want to, you know.”
Poți lua niște bere de casă dacă vrei, ști.

“If you tell me to leave again tomorrow morning, and never come near more, I am
content to go.”
Dacă îmi zici să plec iar mâine dimineață, și să nu mă mai întorc, nu mă
împotrivesc.

“Then make the best of it, in Heaven’s name – if you can’t get cultivated where
you are.”
Atunci profită cât mai mult poți, pe numele lui Dumnezeu, dacă nu te poți cultiva
unde ești.

“O yes – if she agrees, let us do it by all means.”

O da, dacă e de acord, neapărat s-o facem.

“If you don’t come along, I shall go without you. Come!”

Dacă nu vii, voi pleca fără tine. Haide!

Dacă aș încă o dată liber, aș face o mie de lire.”
“If I did not approve, it would be no matter.”
Dacă nu eram de acord, nu ar mai conta!

Dacă ar fi văzut drept ce era cu adevărat, niciodată nu m-ar fi părăsit.

“I don’t know. Yet it would have been very wicked – if I had not thought like that!”
Nu știu. Dar ar fi fost foarte rău, dacă nu m-aș fi gândit în felul ăsta!
