PROIECT DIDACTIC „HAPPY EASTER”

În cadrul acestei ore de limba engleză au fost utilizate aplicațiile Mentimeter- word cloud
și Quizziz pentru a evalua cunoștințele pe care elevii le au în legătură cu tradițiile de Paște. De
asemenea, elevii au avut ocazia să afle mai multe informații despre tradițiile, obiceiurile,
semnificația și istoria acestei importante sărbători prin intermediul unei prezentări în Prezi. M-
am familiarizat cu utilizarea acestor instrumente web în vederea stimulării creativității și captării
interesului elevilor cu ocazia mobilității în Lisabona, Portugalia din cadrul proiectului Erasmus+,
cu titlul „S.P.E.R. –Speranță Pentru Educația Românească”(2018-1-RO01-KA101-047947)
implementat de Colegiul Național “Octavian Goga” din Marghita. În perioada 25.02.2019-
02.03.2019 patru cadre didactice de la această instituție: Simona Sarca, Margareta Anța, Liana
Sârb și Loredana Braia au participat la cursul “Stimulating creativity and innovation in the
classroom”, derulat de CREF –Centro de Recursos Educativos e Formacao, Lisabona, Portugalia.

LESSON AIMS

By the end of this lesson students will have:

 worked in pairs and in groups


 found more about Easter by means of a Prezi presentation
 guessed Easter words from PowerPoint slides
 talked about Easter
 reviewed vocabulary related to Easter
 done a test on QUIZZIZ.com
 written words related to Easter with the help of menti.com

LANGUAGE SKILLS INVOLVED: all the four skills are going to be used by the Ss, but the
focus will be on speaking.
AIDS/MATERIALS: cards, pictures, handouts, worksheets, web tools
TEACHING TECHNIQUES: eliciting, brainstorming, conversation, discussion,
GROUPING STUDENTS: whole-class teaching, pair work, group work

 ACTIVITY 1: Lead -in


AIMS: - to prepare the Ss for the class
- to elicit words from the Ss related to Easter
 PROCEDURE: the T asks Ss to go to Menti.com and write two words each that are
connected to Easter. Ss go on line, log on to menti.com and submit their answers. T
discusses with the whole class their answers.
 INTERACTION: T- Ss TIMING: 5 ’

 ACTIVITY 2: HOMEWORK CHECKING- Group work


AIMS: - to have Ss describe a picture and write a paragraph about the holiday it
depicts and they have to mention what it means to them and their families.
Procedure: the T elicits the homework and then divides the class into groups of four and each
student must read to the other group members the paragraph inspired by the image above. The T
names some Ss to read out loud their thoughts in relation to the given image

ACTIVITY 3: Easter Quiz

 AIMS: - to check Ss’ knowledge about this holiday


- to have Ss practice modern techniques of learning

 PROCEDURE: the T asks Ss to go to Quizziz.com and enter the digit code and start
doing the test. Ss answer the questions. The first five students are rewarded.
 INTERACTION: T- Ss TIMING: 12’

ACTIVITY 4: Pair work- writing activity

 AIMS: - to have Ss create their own acrostic Easter poem

PROCEDURE: the T sets the task, may even show students one acrostic poem where the
first letters in each line spell out the word Easter as an example and then asks Ss to write in
pairs their acrostic poems and sets a time limit. Once the Ss complete the task, each pair will
read out loud their poem where the first letter in each line spells out the word Easter.

INTERACTION: T- Ss, S-S TIMING: 6’

ACTIVITY 5: GUESS THE WORD GAME

 AIMS: - to check Ss’ knowledge about this holiday


- to have Ss practice Easter vocabulary

 PROCEDURE: the T divides the class into two teams and asks each team to guess the
words explained on the board (ppt presentation). Ss work in groups and guess the words.
 INTERACTION: T- Ss, Ss-Ss TIMING: 10 ’

ACTIVITY 6: Reading comprehension

 AIMS: - to check Ss’ understanding of a text


- to have Ss work in pairs

PROCEDURE: the T asks the Ss to read a text about Easter and then in pairs answer the
questions. Ss perform the task and the T checks the answers with the whole class.

Ss have to do a crossword about Easter on their worksheets
