I. ARGUMENT

Cursul opţional PRACTISING ENGLISH THROUGH FILMS AND MUSIC se adresează elevilor din clasele a V-a și a VI-a
care, aflați fiind la vârsta în care sfera intereselor se lărgește ca urmare a cresterii orizontului cultural
si a imbogățirii experienței de viață, interesele lor nu mai gravitează doar in jurul activității școlare ci se extind si la alte domenii
ale științei, tehnicii, artei. Interesele devin mai stabile și mai conștiente, ele fiind urmărite cu tenacitate in vederea unui scop anume.
Din acest motiv, dintre activităţile care au succes la acest nivel sunt și audierea și învățarea unor piese muzicale cunoscute, respectiv
vizionarea unor filmulețe pe diferite teme sau a unor desene animate după povești bine cunoscute de ei, sarcinile de a colabora în
realizarea unor proiecte, precum şi activităţile de repetiţie cu valoare comunicativă.
A învăța într-un mod plăcut și captivant este de dorit pentru orice disciplină, iar muzica și filmele, la această vârstă, sunt
activități interesante, capabile să antreneze atât motivația, cât și curiozitatea elevilor. Un alt avantaj al învățării limbii engleze prin
vizionare de filme și audiție a unor piese muzicale cunoscute este acela al ascultării și înțelegerii unei engleze naturale, vorbită în
popor. Ascultarea și receptarea de mesaje în limba engleză într-un mod plăcut și captivant va favoriza și formarea capacității de
exprimare/comunicare fluentă a elevilor.
Este un curs de un an, ce urmează a fi parcurs într-o oră pe săptămână.
Acest curs urmăreşte să trezească interesul şi plăcerea elevilor pentru limba engleză, să le dezvolte capacitatea de a recepta și
înțelege dar și de a exprima mesaje simple în această limbă, precum şi spiritul de observaţie, gândirea reproductivă şi creativă. De
asemenea, opţionalul va urmări să familiarizeze elevii cu sunetele limbii engleze, cu cuvinte noi, uzuale, să trezească curiozitate
pentru civilizaţia anglo-saxonă şi pentru descoperirea unor aspecte legate de viața și cultura poporului britanic.
