The PhD thesis focuses on the intervention in the training of junior handball players III in
order to approach and educate the psychomotricity components with a training model developed
and adapted to their age and training level and, at the same time, with the development of a system
for evaluation. The purpose and overall objectives of the research refer to the fact that in handball,
alongside the basic motor abilities such as speed, strength and endurance, other psychomotor
qualities are particularly revealed, namely static and dynamic coordination, laterality, body
scheme, simple and quick reaction time, spatial and temporal orientation, ideomotricity, thus, it is
considered necessary to address these qualities from the very beginning of the handball sports
training together with their evaluation. In this respect, we can state that the aim of the research is
to work on the development/education of psychomotricity components in handball sports training
at junior level III. Sports training focused on the development/education of the following
psychomotricity components: static and dynamic coordination static and dynamic balance,
intersegmentary coordination, laterality, ambidexterity, orientation in time and space, body
scheme, simple and quick reaction time. The proposed program envisages the development of
drive systems which include performances of elements and procedures of the specific technique
under normal, hampered, or eased conditions, with helpful devices, on a varied field, with balls of
different sizes. It was intended to develop a training plan a macrocycle of sportswomen handball
players aged between 12 and 14 which also included the above components. The research was
conducted in two stages: the preliminary research between 2013-1014 and the basic research
between 2014-2015. The subjects aged between 12 and 14 were members of two handball teams.
The validation of the results was done by applying the drive systems on an experimental group
(n=18) and comparing them to those of a control group (n=18). At the same time, there were
determined the correlations between specific motricity handball tests and lab tests carried out with
PSISELTEVA testing device. The validation of the research will be strengthened by the drive
systems/exercises which are considered as tests on psychomotric potential. By using the
PSISELTEVA testing device for psychomotricity investigations it was sought to determine the
simple reaction time, the discrimination reaction time, reaction time to complex stimuli, reactivity
test, decision time, hand-foot coordination, vigilance. The software checks the speed of reaction,
decision making and execution, hand-eye and hand-foot coordination, speed of reaction to
auditory stimuli (sounds of different intensities), visual stimuli (colours, different shapes),
different times of occurence, resistance to stress. It was found that after analyzing the results of the
basic research there have been accomplished the assumptions listed, finding out improvements in
technique objectivization, and thus confirming the hypothesis of the experimental research by
statistical and mathematical processing.
Therefore, the thesis shows great originality through the following features: developing and
implementing the psychomotor training model at the junior handball team III (12-13 years old),
introducing thepsychomotor component within the planning, developing a system to assess the
psychomotor components under specific conditions in handball game, validating the drive systems
and progress by testing the handball players with PSISELTEVA testing machine.
The training and evaluation model will be proposed to the Methodical Commission of the
Romanian Handball Federation
After analyzing the research I give permission for the public defence of the thesis.
